Forged from the echoes of countless battles by a reluctant God of Executions, these twin swords are bound by fate, always seeking their other half. Individually, they are swords turning the wielder either chaotic good or chaotic evil, but together, they resonate with an ancient yet blissful power as they balance each other out. Yin is wielded on the main hand, while Yang is wielded on the offhand.
No matter the weapon property of the base weapon, it replaces it with a new one: Rebound. If you miss with your first attack on your turn, you can make your second attack on your turn with advantage.
Weapon Properties
These magical swords each deal 2d6 slashing damage if a pair of scimitars or 2d6 piercing damage if a pair of shortswords and grant a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls. When wielded together, they count as one weapon for the purposes of Extra Attack (allowing you to make an additional attack without using a bonus action, choosing to attack with either Yin or Yang at will). The blades return to your hands if ever disarmed as long as both swords exist on the same plane.
Twin Harmony
When you hit with both Yin and Yang in the same turn, you can choose one of the following effects (once per turn):
- Fated Strike: The second attack ignores resistance to slashing or piercing damage.
- Echoing Blades: The second attack deals an additional 3d6 force damage.
- Unbroken Flow: You can immediately move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
When weilding both swords, you can do the following abilities by expending a charge of neutrality. Both swords combined have 6 Charges per Long Rest.
Yin Echo
As a bonus action, you can manifest spectral duplicates of the blades to unleash additional strikes for two neutrality charges. For the next minute, while the spectral duplicates are up, you can use your reaction to make a free weapon attack with a spectral copy whenever you land a melee attack with one of the swords. The spectral copy hits unerringly, though it doesnt carry additional damage from spells.
Yang Barrier
You can cast the Shield spell from Yang by expending a neutrality charge. When a hostile creature misses an attack on you when the spell is cast, you can make an attack with Yin against the hostile creature if within reach as a part of that reaction.
Executioner's Throw
You can expend 1 neutrality charge and make a ranged weapon attack with the Yin or Yang, hurling it as if it had the thrown property with a normal range of 60 feet and a long range of 180 feet. Whether it hits or misses, the sword flies back to you at the end of the current turn, landing in your open hand or at your feet in your space (as you choose).
Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Requires Attunement by a neutral aligned creature, Finesse, Light, Nick
