In my free time, I enjoy browsing through homebrew to see what things people make, but while I was looking through Artificer subclasses I noticed something weird. Although I was sorting by the number of times people added the subclass to their collections, the list was barely sorted at all.
I'm a veteran player introducing 2 of my friends, Tehlolz1337 and Captain_Riley, to DND and I'm looking for a group to help show them the ropes. We are available Fridays after 4:00, and open to any modules.
I have been making homebrew stuff and overall the creation's pretty intuitive, but when making a subclass for the warlock, it told me it was too similar to The Fiend. So I went back through each class feature, make 100% sure they were completely unique, but still it says my subclass is too similar. If there was a way for DND Beyond to tell me what was too similar (especially considering it already knows specifically what is too similar), it would be very helpful for making my homebrews unique.
Even though this should be implemented regardless, if someone would look at my homebrew and tell me what is too similar I would be very grateful.
Obviously this is ridiculous, but for safety reasons, Broken Bridge wants to know if strange things have been happening when playing our modules. It sounds insane, but we have had a few reports of "glowing dice" and "DM possession" and it makes management jumpy, so I have to ask the community, have weird things been happening?
And here is the official table (from Apparatus of the Crab)
Lever
Up
Down
1
Legs and tail extend, allowing the apparatus to walk and swim.
Legs and tail retract, reducing the apparatus's speed to 0 and making it unable to benefit from bonuses to speed.
2
Forward window shutter opens.
Forward window shutter closes.
3
Side window shutters open (two per side).
Side window shutters close (two per side).
Actually I realize now the "add row" function of the extension, which makes it pretty close to the original, so it's pretty good. However, my point still stands that an official button would be greatly preferable, s you can only get the fan-made button on a chrome extension.
I looked at it and it seems helpful in general, but the tables they have only allow dice rolls and (this may be me getting picky) they don't really look like the official ones. Plus I would prefer to not to only be able to make tables on my laptop. Nevertheless, thanks for the suggestion!
I am getting into homebrew and DND Beyond is pretty good at supporting homebrewed content, but I find it really annoying when I have to put a table in an item's description, because I have to find the source code for a table (usually from the Apparatus of the Crab), then edit it so it fits, and it would just be so much easier and better if there was just a button to add a table in, especially considering how many other homebrewers I see giving up and just using line breaks to signify a table, which looks much sloppier and is also pretty inefficient
Hey, I noticed there was only the fiend too but when I looked at the basic rules (the rules we get for free) IN DND Beyond, it says you can pick between the Archfey, Fiend, or Great Old One. If we are able to see three of them without paying, why do we have to pay to use them?
Another idea would be to have the name reference the joining of the two races in the town. Maybe something like "Jungo" (to stick with the Latin idea, as "iungo" in Latin means to join), or even something in common like "Twomen" (or if you want the name to look more natural, corrupt it to "Toman" or "Toomin").

Unfortunately I can't show a screenshot, but as of writing this, the error is most apparent using this link https://www.dndbeyond.com/homebrew/subclasses?filter-name=&filter-author=&filter-author-previous=&filter-author-symbol=&filter-parent-class=252717&filter-rating=-29&sort=adds. It starts off normal, but the longer you scroll the weirder it gets. Obviously this isn't that pressing of an issue, but it would be nice to get an accurate representation of what people have added most.

Same here. It says that I have 59/Unlimited but its just blank underneath, but all the characters I had tabs for previously work just fine

Ok, for reference here is the extension's table:
