Description
A sea scorpion is a 4-foot long ancient form of aquatic arachnid that lives in warm shallow water, in both seas and lakes. They were once widespread back in the time when more of the world was covered by sea. They are now all but extinct, thriving only in a few remote locations.
Like modern terrestrial scorpions, they had grasping claws and a venomous stinger-tipped tail. Formidable predators, sea scorpions feed on any aquatic creature smaller than themselves, though they have also been known to scavenge.
