Flyby. The vointikavi doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.
Keen Hearing and Sight. The vointikavi has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or sight.
Lesser Regeneration. The vointikavi regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the vointikavi takes acid or fire damage, or if the vointikavi receives a critical hit, this trait doesn't function at the start of the vointikavi's next turn. The vointikavi dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 24 hours and knocked unconscious. The target wakes up naturally after 1d4 hours or after they take another source of damage or after another creature uses it's action to shake the target awake.
Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one Medium or smaller creature. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) slashing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained. The vointikavi has two talons and can grapple two different targets at a time.
Deafening Screech (Recharge 6). The vointikavi ruffles it's feather and unleashes a piercing, deafening screech. Each creature of within 30 feet of it that can hear the vointikavi must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be frightened and deafened until the end of its next turn.
Description
A large, leathery grotesque avian monster. The vointikavi, or "mud bird," is considered a monstrosity created from fusing various birds with the blood of trolls. These creatures have an unnatural ability to regenerate health and are resilient, a quality granted by the troll blood. Additionally the blood and transformation caused the vointikavi to become warped and disfigured, and their bodies are now breeding grounds for toxins and disease.
