Description
Vizzerdrix
Stalking the land and water is a deadly monster, known for its ability to tear entire villages to gory pieces. Armies, adventurers, and even mighty dragons fear to face it on the field of battle. The vizzerdrix is the combination of a rabbit and piranha, possessing a vaguely humanoid shape. No larger than your average troll or ogre, but far more dangerous than any of their number.
Mad Slaughter. The vizzerdrix possesses a well deserved reputation of violence, the creature rarely hesitates to attack anything that moves should it be hungry or catch the scent of blood in the air or water. The vizzerdrix's senses are sharp and it is difficult to avoid, honing in on already bleeding creatures preferably to rip apart and eat. Luckily one can often flee while the beast is devouring another creature, though should they have sustained injuries in the encounter they will often just lead the vizzerdrix with them. Though slightly more intelligent than an animal, it has a single-minded drive to kill even should it be already full. Slaughtering everything in sight so long as the scent of blood persists, until every creature smart enough to escape has gone far out of its range. Only then will it return to its den to sleep the meal off, hopefully not encountering any other creatures along the way. Even worse is if the monstrosity itself be seriously injured during a fight, should the creature survive the encounter the scent of its own blood drives it to keep seeking out prey. Going on a murderous rampage until it finally collapses from exhaustion or sustains enough injuries from a day of fighting everything that comes in reach. It is its own greatest weakness in this sense, its lack of self-preservation ensuring that such a powerful monster never multiplies in great numbers.
Vizzerdrix Origins. All that is known of the vizzerdrix is that it was created by a wizard, a combination of a bunny and a piranha. It combines the ferocity of the piranha, with the agility and senses of a rabbit. However neither explains the size and power of the creature. It was created for no great reason, simply made out of idle boredom. It was also believed to have killed its creator before escaping into the wilds. Luckily the vizzerdrix's violent nature often drives it to attack its own kind, they rarely breed and often fight to the death on encountering each other.
Kezzerdrix. Rumors tell of a slightly smaller cousin to the vizzerdrix found in swamps. Less powerful but believed to be far faster and possibly even more aggressive. Striking abruptly from hiding and slicing every creature in sight before dissapearing again. There are few survivors of encounters with kezzerdrix leading some to doubt its existence.
