Description
This suit of magically animated plate armor clamors as it moves, banging and grinding like the vengeful spirit of a fallen knight.
The spell Animate Object is transmutation magic so I think you are correct.
do they have genders?
that does seem like it would be interesting do you mind if I try it out?
I have made an allowance for animated armor if they get close to a attacker if humanoid can connect them self to the attacker and the humanoid would then be wearing animated armor and the humanoid would become part of the armor.
I created a game where the character's have to fight an army of animated armor it's interesting I shall say.
he going full swiggity swooty in that pic
this is great for guards to ancient artifacts i find that this construct is a tad underrated
It'd be a bit like a Rug of Smothering, hitting the person inside along with the armor.
So... A piece of insight, this has blindsight. So this will deflect even invisible players or even ones 5hat are sthealthing.
Yes, Animated Armor can hold weapons and armor.
Tasty mollusk monster just loose anti magic ability
In the Redbrand Hideout, rather than 3 skeletons in room 4, I'm using 3 slightly lesser animated armors, but made of leather, and have much nicer stats than the armor of the Redbrand Ruffians. The fresh leather should look quite appealing to the adventurers with tattered armor from the Triboar ambush, so should they open the "coffins" and try to put the armor on, once donned, the armor will come to life and start attacking itself with the PCs inside of it, and any remaining armors not worn will snap to life and attack the rest of the players. Once the armors are defeated, granted, they weren't utterly destroyed, they'll have some enhanced qualities as a treat for this conquering this trap.
Keeping in mind that I'm running this adventure with 6 low-level players, I thought this would be a nice touch of flavoring, and a hint of horror.
woah

What would happen if you kill the armor but then cast mending on it until all broken pieces are no longer broken?
I'm assuming it would become a normal set of plate armor, since the description says it can physically mend constructs but not restore their magic.
Ja, can confirm
I thought of doing that in a campaign
An evil overlord could make this harder for a good party, put kids inside the armor prior to conjunction. Then have the armor take in food and water daily.
my Gm did this to me but because i was a barb I sorta tore it apart with my strength and a nat 20
