False Appearance. While the tree remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal tree.
Actions
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Description
An awakened tree is an ordinary tree given sentience and mobility by the awaken spell or similar magic.
Hardly, bad if you rely on piercing and bludgeoning too much, but it's slow, only has one melee attack, and has a vulnerability. The bandit captain puts out more damage, better AC and parry. Polar bears will beat your buns, constrictor snakes restrain. Centaurs can make one 1d10 + 3d6 + 4 attack and another 2d6 + 4 attack on the charge, with speed and a ranged attack. CR2 are tough, and this is only strong if the party sucks at tactics (which is fairly likely but their own fault) or is a bad matchup.
I need to save up a bit more gold to get the Druid in my west March campaign to cast this twice so I can have my like Halfling hut placed in it. A slower and adorable version on babbayagas hut….. just need to paint the trunks like chicken legs.
Poison works fine on real plans- weed killers and the such.
LMAOOOO, I had a similar situation except it's even more cheesy. It was 2 awakened tree's Vs a lvl 3 cleric, a lvl 4 wizard, a lvl 3 wizard, a lvl 3 barbarian, and a lvl 4 ranger (You would think they would win but nah)
Cleric couldn't hit anything, spell, weapon, doesn't matter, He's been cursed like that for a while XD (it wasn't an effect in game or smth, he just couldn't roll high numbers)
The tree's kept getting crits and eventually the only person living was the cleric (Ironic)
There was only 1 tree left but the cleric managed to kill it. (The cleric died 20 minutes later because he forgot to rest and tried fighting a 3 goblins solo)
Nevermind.
I used one as the first boss of a campaign and it was more dramatic and fun than difficult ( if it was an important fight i would have buffed him up)
at the end my player's paladin dragonborn planted a great axe on his forehead and brought him down to the ground for a finish
You got a party of 7 players, how and why?
Was a Session 0 of a bunch of people who wanted to play. Was a test to see who wanted to continue. It dropped to 4 after that.
We need someone to homebrew us some lawnmowers too, am I right?
*Casts Animate Objects on some wheelbarrows*
OR
*Casts Haste on a Goat*
OR
*Casts summon Construct*
OR
*is a Battle Smith Artificer with a lawnmower themed Steel Defender*
OR
*One or more members of the party are Warforged or Autognomes and are themed like lawnmowers and/or are paladins(Divine Blender vs Zombies).
Also, consider the Wrath of Nature Spell for the plants, or other plant-themed spells such as Thorn Whip, Entangle, etc.
If you like this monster, then you should check out this Encounter of the Week from DNDB - Sylvan Genesis.
Yes. Have you heard of Round-Up?
As someone who heavily uses visual aids, I'm on a mission to provide art to stat blocks which lack it. Now I'm no artist so I'll be adding any monster descriptions included in the source books as well as a link to an image online close enough to how the monster is described.
