Amphibious. The dragon turtle can breathe air and water.
Multiattack. The dragon turtle makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws. It can make one tail attack in place of its two claw attacks.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 26 (3d12 + 7) piercing damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) slashing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 26 (3d12 + 7) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away from the dragon turtle and knocked prone.
Steam Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon turtle exhales scalding steam in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw, taking 52 (15d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Being underwater doesn't grant resistance against this damage.
CRITICAL ROLE HYPE! WE ARE BACK BOIS!
I feel like it should have Legendary Resistance.
Okay like whats the average age of a dragon turtle though? That's what i am looking for
giant snapping turtle, horizon back tortoise, dragon turtle... no small regular sized versions of either a tortoise or a turtle...
can we get stats for something regular sized?
tortoise (probably medium sized), sea turtle (small sized) and just a little turtle (tiny) like one might have as a pet.
Why does the dragon turtle not have the Siege Monster trait? Seems like this is the perfect creature for it. Compare the dragon turtle to the equivalent CR 17 Goristro and the lack of being a Siege Monster becomes really apparent. If I were to redesign this 5e version, I would give it both the Siege Monster trait and make a new Capsize Ship action similar to what it had in 3e and 2e.

We ended up facing on of these at lvl 6. It was suppose to be a guild quest that our party would do later..... Well i took it and we nearly all died. In the end my DM let me waste my wish spell that my sword had to have the turtle suddenly die.
Yes
I think you mean dexterity saving throw, although with the normal one it says constitution.
I just realised, how amazing would it be to have a baby dragon turtle instead of the normal drake for the UA drakewarden subclass. Just this tiny, innocent looking turtle that breathes boiling steam and can chomp on people's ankles.
I get to solo this thing at lvl 5 let's see how it goes.
Damn Gina
This is a great creature for trapping your players on a boat so they forced to fight. I just teleported my players to a boat and had them fight the dragon! No they didn't make but...... IT SUCKS TO BE THEM
true true
Pretty garbage that it doesn't have legendary actions, magic resistance, and/or legendary resistance.
I created a baby variant of these guys I thought they would be cute, their actually just really weak
BIG
one stop: town gone.
dragon turtles are AWESOME
My DM Threw this at me. I was alone, in an Arena (so no way of hiding or a way to get away), also i was a 7TH LEVEL CLERIC WITH LIFE DOMAIN! I survived First round but died shortly After because of the breath weapon…
