Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage.
Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 16). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the snake can't constrict another target.
CHEESE
Ok so I have conjure animal as a ranger. If I summoned this snake to fight a death tyrant. would the constrict attack restrain the monster?
So do grappled creatures automatically get constriction damage per round. Seems reasonable given crushing its prey to paste before eating it is the whole point of constiction.
I believe you cannot grapple a creature bigger than you? not completely sure about that but I feel like I've heard that somewhere (yes, this was posted 3 years ago and I'm still gonna reply to it)
the wolf's AC comes from being fast, the Snake's AC comes from being slow, I do agree it should have some more AC, but depending on how big the scales are someone could just stab in between two scales and avoid it
there's two sizes higher actually, Gargantuan and Colossal
They both have the same Dexterity modifier. The base AC of the wolf is 11, while the base AC of the snake is 10. Base AC is determined by the toughness of the creature's skin or armor, while the Dexterity addition to the AC is about how well the creature can dodge. Wolf has a higher BASE AC than snake even though snake has scales and wolf has fur & flesh.
i couldn't even edge to this
It is an automatic grapple I believe.
my staff of the python creature named mr sparkly longbottom says hello
If the snake constricts somebody or something, can it then bite it while grappling?
the pic isnt a snake its a demon cat thing
i think yea but idk
Since no-one answered this: natural anacondas can hold their breath for at least ten minutes and have been observed remaining below water without surfacing for nearly an hour.
im playing circle of the moon druid for the first druid ive ever done ive just got to level six and have seen one of these in a dinosaur campaign
If the snake constricts somebody, can it then bite the player again and again, or bite another player? If so, does it roll with advantage on the grappled player? I’m using the snake in the context of the Staff of Pythons.
they would be found in marshes rather than a traditional underwater area, so it isn't incredibly deep. keep in mind a whale can't breath underwater either.
Ya
They take a 3x3 but that's coiled up so it would be 1x8 full length and that would be 40 ft long
(Then again that only accounts for 3x3x1, if you want to go 3x3x3 then you get 120 ft)
