Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta takes 27 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Magic Resistance. Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Devour Soul. Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta can eat the soul of a creature it has killed within the last hour, provided that creature is neither a construct nor an undead. The devouring requires Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta to be within 5 feet of the corpse for at least 3 rounds, after which it gains a number of Hit Dice (d8s) equal to half the creature’s number of Hit Dice. Roll those dice, and increase Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta's hit points by the numbers rolled. A creature devoured by Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta can be restored to life only by a wish spell.
Multiattack. Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta makes two melee attacks: one with its tusks and one with its hooves.
Tusks. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.
Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage.
Description
Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta (ur hookh thee gooTa) is a demon that appears in the form of a large black sow without a tail, sometimes accompanied by a headless woman (Y Ladi Wen).
Thought to be a spawn of the Demon Prince Orcus, it roams the lands of Gymbru during the first night of winter, known as “Nos Gyntaf y Gaeaf”. During this night, people stay in their homes after a traditional bonfire has burned out, for fear that if they are caught outside, Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta will eat their souls. The souls devoured by Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta will be used by Orcus to spawn undead.
