Keen Hearing and Smell. The aardvark has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Evil Death Stare. If a creature starts its turn within 60 feet of Aaaalan and the two of them can see each other, Aaaalan can force the creature to make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw if Aaaalan isn't incapacitated. On a failed save the creature takes 21 (6d6) necrotic damage and is frightened of Aaaalan for one minute. While frightened in this way the creature is also paralysed. The creature can repeat the save at the start of each of its turns. On a successful save the effect ends.
A creature that isn't surprised can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If it does so, it can't see Aaaalan until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again.
If it looks at the Aaaalan in the meantime, it must immediately make the save.
Spellcasting. Aaaalan is a 9th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). Aaaalan has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, light, mage hand, prestidigitation
1st level (4 slots): detect magic, mage armor, magic missile, shield
2nd level (3 slots): misty step, suggestion
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, fireball, fly
4th level (3 slots): greater invisibility, ice storm
5th level (1 slot): cone of cold
Special Equipment. Aaaalan wears a headband of intellect.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 4) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage.
Royal Decree (Recharge 5-6) All aardvarks and aardvarks of doom within 60 feet can use their reactions to make one attack with advantage.
Look At The Power. All non aardvarks within 60 feet must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or look at Aaaalan, all of which are subjected to his evil death stare trait
Description
Aaaalan the aardvark is lord of all aardvarks. Unlike most of his kind he is a powerful spellcaster. The size of a bear, he is a rather scary sight.
Although the society of aardvarks is not focused around intelligence he rose to his height of power by finding a headband of intellect, which allows him to be more than just a dumb beast. One day when he was mixing potions for the random effects a potion of enlargement that he drunk became permanent, and he quickly rose to rule all aardvark- kind. Over time the headband fully fused with his head and can only be removed by killing him. Even if the headband was surgically removed without hurting him he would still have 16 Int, due to the headbands effect slowly becoming permanent.

This is amazing. I have no idea why this has negative points on the homebrew page. It's hilarious and the creator obviously knew what they were doing, because it is a very well designed monster that isn't overpowered like many other homebrew monsters.
