Can possess a living being. Cannot move its victim's body, but will hide and come out when its victim is sleeping so it can feed on others. Takes on the appearance of its victim's face. Parasitic. It leaves through its victim's mouth, but leaves a small trail of smoke. Requires an 11 Perception check to see it before it strikes.
Incorporeal most of the time. Can only be killed when it becomes solid. Can be poisoned through gas. Can be killed if its host body dies, is healed through Greater Restoration, or if the curse is removed.
If the host wakes up, the serpent dissipates.
If the creature dies while separated from its host, it withers away and the smoke dissipates. The victim wakes up, confused and feeling lighter.
Feed. Range 5ft. +8 to hit. The serpent becomes corporeal for 30 seconds. They attempt to whip up toward their target and bite them to feed. Hit: (2d8+3) piercing damage. The serpent remains attached to its target for 30 seconds unless it is knocked off.
Repossess. Range 10 ft. The serpent begins to pool together and its tail leading back to its previous victim gathers into the pool of smoke. It become corporeal for 3 seconds before it dives into the nearest person's mouth in an attempt to possess them instead.
16 Con save. If the target fails, they swallow the serpent and take on the curse. The previous victim is cured.
