Patriarch of a vengefly colony. Swoops at intruders and cries out for reinforcements if threatened.
Vengefly Kings rule over Vengefly Colonies, which normally consist of around 3 dozen members (roll 3d20+6), though they can be as big as 100 Vengeflies. Vengefly Colonies are dangerous infestations, becoming pack predators that tear apart potential meals within second. Vengefly Kings communicate and order their smaller kin through shrieks and screeches.
Vengefly Kings eat anything they come across, and if times are hard, will not hesitate to snack on their own subjects. Vengefly Kings will often grab rocks and gnaw on them, though the reason for this remains a mystery. They resemble Vengeflies, but larger and fatter, with an extra pair of wings and 2 short curved spikes protruding from the sides of their mandibles. Upon spotting a potential threat, Vengefly Kings will screech at it and swoop down at it repeatedly, trying to wear it down. When not hunting, they will pick a cavern controlled by the colony and sit on the roof, conserving energy.
A filthy creature that is happy to chew on any old thing it finds discarded on the cavern floor. When it notices a threat it will annoyingly scream and shriek, so kill it swiftly.
