Traits

Amorphous Movement. The VHS Viper can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch without squeezing.

Hypnotic Glare. When a creature starts its turn within 30 feet of the VHS Viper and meets its gaze, the creature must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the start of its next turn. While charmed, the creature is incapacitated and has a speed of 0. The VHS Viper can have up to three creatures charmed at a time.

Actions

Multiattack. The VHS Viper makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Constrict.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.

Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 3) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the VHS Viper cannot use its Constrict on another target.

Tape Tangle (Recharge 5-6). The VHS Viper releases a tangled mess of VHS tape in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

VHS Vipers are serpentine creatures composed of tangled VHS tapes, their movements fluid and erratic. They use their hypnotic glare to immobilize foes, allowing them to strike with their venomous bites and constricting coils. When cornered or overwhelmed, they unleash a frenzy of VHS tape, slashing at multiple targets with their Tape Tangle ability.
