Traits

Amphibious. The Sirius Dragon can breathe air and water.

Humid Aura. Creatures within 5 feet of the Sirus Dragon must succeed on a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of the dragon's turn or gain one level of exhaustion. The DC starts at 15 and increases by 1 for each additional time that a creature has to make this save. Creatures wearing medium or heavy armor, or who are clad in heavy clothing, have disadvantage on the saving throw. Creatures with resistance or immunity to fire damage automatically succeed on the saving throw, as do creatures naturally adapted to tropical and other hot climates.

Actions

Multiattack. The Sirius Dragon makes one Bite attack and one Claw or Tail attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) piercing damage plus 5 (1d10) fire damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 5) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away and knocked prone.

Flammable Ice Vapor Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales a 30-foot cone of cold. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 38 (9d10) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The vapor lingers in the air as a low hanging mist for one minute unless dispelled by a strong wind, if the mist is exposed to fire damage or is in a location under the effects of extreme heat it ignites, causing an explosion that requires creatures within the mist to make a DC. 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 16 (5d10) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

Sirius dragons, otherwise known as Great Dog Dragons, Buck Dragons, or even Summer Dragons, are nurturing and protective of their loved ones. They are also tenacious and resourceful, able to overcome any obstacle in their path. Sirius dragons are also known to be strong, confident, and loyal. They enjoy being in the spotlight and are natural leaders.

Sirius dragons have an overall body shape similar to a green dragon, though their limbs resemble large, clawed flippers and have no wings, because of this reason they are believed to be an off shoot of sea serpents. Another distinguishing feature is their heads which resembled those of kobolds, being a reptilian like snout ending in a nose that resembled that of a dog and had horns that when they matured grew to resemble that of a buck deer, and their scales being charcoal black in color and their underbelly being a beige color, running along their equally long tails to match their long necks, their tail ending in a fish like tail fin. Their short periods of activity and long periods of activity leads their bodies to typically becoming a bit pudgier than most other dragons.

Sirius dragons largely are only active during the hottest and most humid days of the year, where they hunt and feed on various wild game, mostly those found in their tropical swamp and wet forest like environments' waters, which can at times bring them into conflict with black or green dragons.

Possibly do to their connections to sea serpents, despite their affinity for fire and heat, their breath weapon is that of a flammable vapor that has a temperature of -20 degrees Celsius. If ignited, the vapor creates a massive explosion that fills the area but leaves the dragon unharmed do to it's durable and unique charcoal black scales that withstand massive amounts of heat and while less, still significant blunt force and cold. It is generally believed by many scholars that these traits are something the dragon has adapted to have to make up for the lack of magical abilities of it's kin. in Combat it uses this in combination it's humid aura to slowly exhaust it's opponents and should they refuse to yield, ignites it's breath weapon either by the heat in the environment or if it is not humid or hot enough will snap it's jaws to ignite a fiery spark as it makes a bite attack at it's nearest enemy.

Though amphibious, Sirius dragons tend to prefer to remain in the water as much as possible do to how slow their flipper like claws make them in combination with their girth, rather slow when moving on land, doing so only when they must.

Sirius dragons have a fascination in filling their hoards with rubies and sapphires as well as items that represent both purity and beauty. This is believed by some to be why waters that are home to these dragons will become abundant with water lilies.
