Traits

Amphibious. The Abyssal Fishmonger can breathe air and water.

Actions

Multiattack. The Abyssal Fishmonger makes two attacks: one with its claw and one with its bite.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be pulled 5 feet toward the Abyssal Fishmonger.

Harmonic Resonance (Recharge 5-6). The Abyssal Fishmonger releases an eerie hum, creating a 30-foot-radius sphere of supernatural sound. Each creature within that area must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or take 22 (4d10) psychic damage and become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Bonus Actions

Shallow Step. If the Abyssal Fishmonger is in water, it can use its bonus action to teleport to another body of water within 40 ft. Both water sources must be big enough for the Abyssal Fishmonger to fit through.

Description

The Abyssal Fishmonger emerges from the depths like a nightmarish creation born of abyssal tides. Its form is an unsettling fusion of aquatic and humanoid traits, melding together in a grotesque harmony. Its body, sinewy and muscular, retains the unmistakable shape of a humanoid, yet its flesh is marred by the pallid pallor of the deep sea, an unsettling contrast against the darkness of its environment. Instead of limbs, its arms end in nightmarish appendages reminiscent of crustacean claws, glistening with an eerie phosphorescent luminescence. These claws, among the sharpest known in the world, are as much a tool of death as they are a testament to its origins.

The abyssal eyes of the creature gleam with an otherworldly light, revealing an unsettling intelligence that transcends the mundane. From its gaunt, fish-like face jut tendrils of seaweed-like hair, waving eerily as if guided by an unholy tide. As it moves, its every motion is accompanied by a discordant hum, an unsettling resonance that seems to originate from the very depths of its being. This creature, born of the abyssal chasms and tempered by the darkest currents, is a haunting embodiment of the enigmatic depths, a harbinger of doom whose claws are poised to rend and tear with uncanny precision.
