Traits

Regeneration. The revenant regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the revenant takes fire or radiant damage, this trait doesn’t function at the start of the revenant’s next turn. The revenant’s body is destroyed only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn’t regenerate.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces Adam to 0 hit points, he must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 10, unless the damage is radiant or fire. On a success, Adam drops to 1 hit point instead. This ability can be used every time he drops to 0 hit points, unless doing so violates the previous rules.

Turn Immunity. The revenant is immune to effects that turn undead.

Actions

Multiattack. The revenant makes three fist attacks.

Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (6d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage. Instead of dealing damage, Adam can grapple the target (escape DC 14) provided the target is Large or smaller.

Dislodge. Adam can remove one of his arms to extend his melee range to be of any distance. The arm has 60 hit points, an AC of 16, and deals the same damage as his regular melee attack.

Cloud of Hate. As an action, Adam channels his own self hatred and focus them into a aura of extra arcane menace. The aura reduces any bright light in a 30-foot radius around him to dim light. Creatures that rely on sight have disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures draped in this shadow. Each creature of Adam's choice within 30 feet of him must make a Wisdom saving throw if they can see him. On a failed save, the target is frightened of Adam for 1 minute. If a creature frightened by this effect ends its turn more than 30 feet away from him, they can attempt another Wisdom saving throw to end the effect on it.

Bonus Actions

Fingers of Loathing. While the Cloud of Hate is active, Adam can use a bonus action on his turn to cause the shadows in the aura to attack one creature. He makes a melee spell attack against the target. If the attack hits, the target takes necrotic damage equal to 4d10 + his Constitution modifier.

Description

At one point, this creature was a powerful paladin of Justice and of the Law. He was tasked one day with hunting down a man who had evaded the courts. He tracked him down to a mountain face, but a rock slide killed him before he realized what was happening. It took six years for his body to be found, and in a misguided attempt at restoring him to his duties, his fellow paladins grafted metal onto his body in order to conduct electricity into his nerves, reviving him. The pain of his very nature forced him to unleash torrents of violence upon his once allies, but this did not sate the creature who now called himself Adam. He scorned the betrayal of the divine and broke his oath, swearing to teach all he could find how little their gods cared of their lives.
