Description

A dire version of a typical sewer rat, these can grow to the size of a small Labrador dog.  Their hair is stringy and wet looking, even if it's allowed to dry out.  Their eyes have a dim yellow glow, though this is usually only noticed in pitch darkness.  The teeth are pronounced, with two fang like appendages that protrude from just beneath their noses, the feature that was the cause of the nomenclature by which they are known.  When viewed after they have been killed, a yellow, puss-like liquid can be seen dripping from these fangs.  When compared to their heads, the ears of a viper rat are larger than they should be.

Lair and Lair Actions

When fought against in a lair, the animals will swarm, giving the animal advantage on attacks when more than one viper rat is attacking the same target.
