Magic Resistance. The quasit has Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Rend. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) Slashing damage, and the target has the Poisoned condition until the start of the quasit’s next turn.
Invisibility. The quasit casts Invisibility on itself, requiring no spell components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability.
Scare (1/Day). Wisdom Saving Throw: DC 10, one creature within 20 feet. Failure: The target has the Frightened condition. At the end of each of its turns, the target repeats the save, ending the effect on itself on a success. After 1 minute, it succeeds automatically.
Shape-Shift. The quasit shape-shifts to resemble a bat (Speed 10 ft., Fly 40 ft.), a centipede (40 ft., Climb 40 ft.), or a toad (40 ft., Swim 40 ft.), or it returns to its true form. Its game statistics are the same in each form, except for its Speed. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn’t transformed.
I like how this and a lot of other art shows the creatures in action rather than like they're posing for a picture.
He looks so sweet in the art.
I really like the new wording for saves. Makes homebrewing monsters a lot easier and understanding statblocks easier for both players and DMs, very neat! Instead of flavor text explaining how the quasit scares someone, it just gets right to the point mechanically without ambiguity.
the new Quasit is really earning that CR 1!
this is great art. and the other dudes have great art too
How does one link the NEW version fo the spell to a creature when homebrewing? the format [spell] name of the spell [ /spell] doesn't work with the 2024 ones.
Even the Quasit here, is showing the old version of Invisibility, but in the Statblock in the PHB 2024 shows the new version of the spell.
Cute makes a perfect pet for a fiend patron warlock
I know right? It's one of my favorite things about the book. I hope they keep it up for the Monster Manual.
No more familiar variant... there goes the shared magic resistance. :(
love this little ball of rage
Evil little guy, but I preferred the artwork where he was ripping apart a book for no apparent reason.
Got a BIG buff in health, from 7(3d4) to 25(10d4). Lost resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing like many things did.
Claw is changed to Rend, and now deals slashing instead of piercing. However, the claw used to force those hit to make a DC 10 Con save or take 2d4 poison damage AND be poisoned for 1 minute with repeatable saving throws. Now, it automatically does poisoned, but with a shorter interval.
Quasits are simple demons that are easy to use. However, for a stronger one, I'll use the fusion,
Fusion time! Give them back their resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing. Allow the claws to deal the additional 2d4 poison along with the Poisoned condition for 1 minute with a repeatable DC 10 Con save. Simple changes, but powerful for a tiny demon. Also, give them back the wanton destruction of book art.
Spells is the tooltip you are looking for, and this link is great
