Posted Sep 6, 2024It is downright comical that this is one of the options for a "special" Warlock familiar. You have an aberration, celestial, demon, devil, dragon, fey, and an undead, all who various features and actions, then a tiny snake with no magic or special features whatsoever....

Posted Sep 25, 2024Well, a familiar can take different forms as the need arises. It's hardly going to be the go-to form, but it could definitely be useful in the right situation. Another option is always worthwhile, even if it's a weaker one.
What *is* comical is the fact that it does 4 piercing damage. So a de-venomed snake could kill an average human with a few bites?? It's virtually killing someone with pin-pricks. Now I have an image of a snake leaping high into the air and latching onto someones throat and fanging their carotid artery open.

Posted Nov 18, 2024It has blindsight 10 feet and a swim speed. It's like the underwater version of a bat with much more damage but much less blindsight range. It has a tiny niche, but, if you're a warlock, pay the 10gp on a short rest to use it when you need it then, at your next rest, turn it back.

Posted Feb 6, 2025Missed an opportunity to make them immune to the Prone condition. They really should be.

Posted Aug 7, 2025Agree with both the previous comments: Should be immune to prone AND only do maximum of 1 piercing damage. These things kill with venom, not the little needle-sized puncture "wounds."
