Brute. A melee weapon deals one extra die of its damage when the bugbear hits with it (included in the attack).
Surprise Attack. If the bugbear surprises a creature and hits it with an attack during the first round of combat, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) damage from the attack.
Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the zombie bugbear to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie bugbear drops to 1 hit point instead.

Description
Zombie bugbears are undead hairy goblinoids that were born for battle and mayhem. In life, they survived by raiding and hunting, but were fond of setting ambushes and fleeing when outmatched.
I created this template when trying to transfer a Zombie Bugbear from 3.5 to 5e. The zombie template in the DMG is incomplete and the homebrew 'bugbear zombie' contains some inconsistencies, so I analysed The Big Book of Zombies to extract a Zombie template and applied it to the Bugbear with the following in mind: "A zombie rarely picks up items once dropped" so it is unlikely to still carry a shield and it is too stupid to carry and use any javelins. Enjoy.
