Traits

Maneuver. If Sariel attacks with his Longsword, he can try to disarm or prone the creature (Save DC 17 Str) or deal 4 (1d8) bonus damage. He can do this once per turn. 

Aura of Protection and Fear. Sariel radiate a protective, unseeable aura in a 15-foot Emanation that originates from him. The aura is inactive while he has the Incapacitated condition. Sariel and his allies in the aura gain a +4 to saving throws and are immune to the frightened condition. 

Actions

Multiattack. Sariel makes two attacks with his Longsword and throws one Soul Dagger.

Multiattack. Sariel throws three Soul Dagger.

 

Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 11 (1d8 + 7) Slashing damage. 

Soul Dagger. Ranged Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, range 20/60 ft., 1 target. Hit: 9 (1d4 + 7) Piercing damage. (Soul daggers are created through magic and vanish after impact)

Bonus Actions

Sariel can use a Bonus Action once per turn.

Heal (5/Short Rest). Sariel can heal a creature within 30 ft. for 20 HP. 

Second Wind (3/Short Rest). Sariel can heal himself for 30 HP.

Reactions

Riposte. When a creature misses you with a melee attack roll, Sariel can take a Reaction to make a Longsword attack against the attacker. On a hit, add 4 (1d8) damage to the attack.

Protection. When a creature Sariel can see attacks a target other than him that is within 5 ft. of him, he can take a Reaction to interpose his Shield. Sariel impose Disadvantage on the triggering attack roll and all other attack rolls against the target until the start of his next turn if you remain within 5 ft. of the target.

Legendary Actions

Life Safer (1/Long Rest). Sariel channels divine energy to protect and restore an unconscious ally. This ability has the following effects:

  1. Teleportation. Sariel teleports up to 60 feet to an unconscious creature of his choice that he can see.

  2. Shockwave. Upon arrival, all creatures of Sariel’s choice within 10 feet are pushed back 5 feet and knocked prone. This happens automatically and does not require a saving throw.

  3. Protective Circle. A glowing, protective circle with a 5-foot radius forms around Sariel and the unconscious creature. 

  4. Shield Effects. Sariel gains 100 temporary hit points. All attacks and effects targeting the unconscious creature are redirected to Sariel instead. No hostile creature can enter the circle or pass through it. Ranged attacks and spells can still hit Sariel as normal. Sariel and the unconscious creature are immune to all conditions.

  5. Healing. At the start of Sariel's next turn, the unconscious creature is healed for 50 hit points. Sariel heals the creature a second time (another 50 HP) at the start of his subsequent turn.

  6. End of the Effect. After the second healing is completed, the protective circle dissipates, and any remaining temporary hit points granted by the shield are lost. The unconscious creature is no longer incapacitated and can act normally.

  7. Limitations. While maintaining this ability, Sariel cannot take any other actions, reactions, or bonus actions. If Sariel is reduced to 0 hit points, the effect ends immediately, and the circle vanishes.

Description

Sariel is a fallen angel whose once-divine purpose was to guard and guide mortals. Sariel is deeply loyal to those he considers allies, willing to sacrifice himself without hesitation to protect them. Despite his fall from grace, he clings to a sense of justice and morality, though his methods are far more pragmatic than they once were. He struggles with guilt for his past and is driven by an unyielding desire to make amends, even if it means defying celestial law.
