Posted Apr 10, 2025Ok first of all I like the artwork. Its good but the old one just hits different, it looked more dangerous in my opinion.
For the changes, no armor reduce if its prone is ok i guess. With an ac of 14 it barely matter when player attacked in melee. A few more hitpoints is nice. I like the tunneler mechanic. Maybe player will use one to dig. For the change of the acid spray i fibd the trade of 1 on saving throw for 1d6 dmg fair. Also finally it can puke acid while it has someone grappled. Makes it a bit more dagerous.

Posted Oct 17, 2025It says here that it has no treasure, but I think that if the PCs are exploring the tunnels where the ankheg dragged a lot of victims, they should find some coins scattered on the floor, because no one can keep money in their pockets while being dragged along an underground corridor by a giant insect.
