Magic Resistance. The devil has Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. The devil makes one Beard attack and one Infernal Glaive attack.
Beard. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) Piercing damage, and the target has the Poisoned condition until the start of the devil’s next turn. Until this poison ends, the target can’t regain Hit Points.
Infernal Glaive. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 10 ft. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) Slashing damage. If the target is a creature and doesn’t already have an infernal wound, it is subjected to the following effect. Constitution Saving Throw: DC 12. Failure: The target receives an infernal wound. While wounded, the target loses 5 (1d10) Hit Points at the start of each of its turns. The wound closes after 1 minute, after a spell restores Hit Points to the target, or after the target or a creature within 5 feet of it takes an action to stanch the wound, doing so by succeeding on a DC 12 Wisdom (Medicine) check.
It does Look like a miss match of a few images like , it's kind of weird ?
Just the artist's style I think.
problably yes
Interestingly, this creature's Infernal Glaive attack is one of the only remaining attack-then-save effects in the 2024 MM.
I like the artwork, not my fav but still good. Happy that the beard is more prt of his body now then with the old artwork.
He got a bit chonky too. 6 average hp more. He lost his wisdom save but his cha stat wrnt up by 3 and he got the save there. Overall a fair trait. He cant be frightened in general anymore. Fiends do not know fear. Even alone.
For damage, well the beard don't have a save which is normal in 24 and does 1 dmg more. For the glaive, pc can't have multiple wounds now which makes sense cause they get auto poisond so healing is more difficult.
Overall i would have preferred multiple wounds and a save for thr poison but hes still fun
Art does look a little strange, especially with the spear.
Gained one hit die, increasing health from 52 to 58. Gained 3 Charisma, raising it from 11 to 14. Lost wisdom saving throw proficiency, but gained Charisma save proficiency.
Lost resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonsilvered weapons. Devil's Sight is reworked into the Darkvision, and Steadfast is changed from being immune to being frightened so long as an ally is within 30ft to flat immunity to being frightened.
Beard attack's damage is increased from 6(1d8+2) to 7(1d8+3), changing the attack's ability from Dexterity to Strength. Used to have a DC 12 Constitution save against 1 minute of Poisoned with repeatable saves. Now, it is an automatic poisoned condition until the start of the devil's next turn.
The glaive is reworked. It used to target to be able to affect non-undead and constructs. The wound's damage also used to increase each time the devil hit a wounded target with it. Now, it doesn't do that. It used to be able to inflict more than one wound, and now it can't. The wound also used to not be able to close unless the Medicine check is used or if they receive magical healing. Now, it closes after one minute, after magical healing, or the Medicine check.
New bearded devil is good, but the glaive got a nerf. Nothing a fusion can't fix.
Fusion time! Give the devil back their resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonsilvered weapons. Change the beard so that the Poisoned has the repeatable saving throw. Lastly, the glaive. Change the glaive so that it increases the glaive's damage whenever the devil hits a wounded target and have it deal more wounds.
The flavor text says, "Those struck by these unnatural weapons suffer infernal wounds that grow worse until stanched or magically healed." Except they don't grow worse anymore. They stay the same.
Weird that this doesn't have fiendish restoration like the other devils, is it just to save space or is this a shadow lore change
