Angelic Weapons. The avoral's weapon attacks are magical. When the avoral hits with any weapon, the weapon deals an extra 2d8 radiant damage (included in the attack).
Dive Attack. If the avoral is flying and dives at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a melee weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 9 (2d8) damage to the target.
Flyby. The avoral doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy’s reach.
Innate Spellcasting. The avoral's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15). The avoral can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: command, detect magic, speak with animals
1/day each: gust of wind, hold person, lightning bolt
Keen Sight. The avoral has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Magic Resistance. The avoral has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. The avoral makes two attacks with its talons.
Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage plus 9 (2d8) radiant damage.
Frightful Presence (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). Each creature of the avoral's choice that is within 20 feet of the avoral and aware of it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the avoral's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
Healing Touch (3/Day). The avoral touches another creature. The target magically regains 20 (4d8 + 2) hit points and is freed from any curse, disease, poison, blindness, or deafness.
Description
An avoral’s bones are strong but hollow, so even the largest specimens weigh no more than 120 pounds. An avoral is about 7 feet tall.
Each of an avoral’s wings has a small hand at the midpoint. When the wings are folded, these appendages are about where human hands would be and can do nearly anything hands can do. An avoral’s visual acuity is virtually unmatched: It can see detail on objects up to 10 miles away and is said to be able to discern the color of a creature’s eyes at 200 paces.
