Description
(Based partially on the Adamantoise from FF15)
"See the Turtle of enormous girth! On his shell he holds the Earth..." -Steven King
This massive turtle was thought by even some of the most ancient creatures, to not exist. Only some creatures like the oldest of the sea creatures and some gods, know about him. He has been sleeping for thousands of years. For so long that it is only thought to be a huge mountain housing a quiet but powerful race of Loxodons. Very spiritual Monk race of Elephant creatures that keep to themselves. They are one of the few beings that know of the Adamantoise, though it is a secret they are sworn to keep.
This girthy turtle, called the Adamantoise, is the largest creature in the world. Measuring a little over 1 mile from tail to nose, and is the only one left of his race. He will only wake up when a huge amount of magic is activated in some object. Usually a world stone or other large crystal. He will then awaken in order to travel an eat the powerful magical item.
Lair and Lair Actions
On his back, he holds a mountain. It is made mostly of Adamantine, that is protected by the Loxodons that live there. A powerful race of Elephant humanoids. The tribe is magically linked to the Adamantite, and when he dies, they die. Since most of their race is CR 10-15, with the chief being a CR 22, it would be unwise to anger them.
The Adamantoise can make no actions with his Lair himself, rather than shaking a little to try and knock anything on him off, if he knows you are there that is. If he takes an action to shake a Strength DC of 19 or the character will be flung from the creatures back and take appropriate fall damage.
He can also retreat into his shell for one day, regaining 300d20 health. He can still be attacked during this time, but his AC is increased by 3 while in his shell. He suffers from the 'Unconscious' condition during this time.
If you make it to his back, and fight the tribe of Loxodons on him, you may be able to get to a point deep within the mountain on his back, entering his insides, where you can attack his core and kill him rather easily as nothing within his core is immune or resistant to anything. Enough damage of any type to his core will kill him. His core shares his health pool, but only has an AC of 25.
