Description

Ritualists are yuan-ti malison Shamans that had living snakes for limbs, and cobra hoods that accompanied their humanoid faces. They are responsible for many of the rituals that took place in their ancient ruins. Although their curiosity often got the better of themselves which led to creations that typically toed the line of yuan-ti standards, which was a difficult task to accomplish.

They are aggressive in their pursuits however, choose to forgo combat if possible, instead having their own creations or lesser yuan-ti fill that role. This very nature aligns with The Great Serpent Zehir, which drives a large number of Ritualists to become its devout followers; hoping one day to resurrect their god. Although some Ritualists become so obsessed with their work that the only time they will pray is if they require twisted inspiration for a ceremony or ritual.

If driven to combat itself a Ritualist will try its hardest not to kill its prey, unless an upcoming ritual requires it. They choose to slink behind cover and cast spells to whittle down and disorient their opponents before summoning snakes to assist them in close quarters combat. A Ritualist will always except help from creatures who further its own goals. However, at the first sign of deception or lack of usefulness, it will start planning an ambush.
