Description
This creature is known for luring the greediest of adventurers into its clutches. Similar to a Mimic, the Fool's Gold appears to be something it's not, in this case, a pile of shiny gold coins. The moment one reaches into this pile though, their hands are tightened upon, grappling them and leading to what is usually a painful end.
Exoskeleton. Fool's Gold can be alone or in groups. It is essentially a very large insect. Multiple crab like legs and a squishy inside are shrouded by a heavier gold type exoskeleton for protection. This surrounding shell gives way to touch, then tightening around anything that passes beyond it. It also house multiple eye beneath this which it can open for multiple vantage points as well as multiple mouths from whichever side the opportunity comes from. Clusters of the exoskeleton can also forcefully protrude forth to bludgeon that caught in it's grasp.
