Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny snake. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
Undead Nature. The swarm is made of tiny undead that don't require air, food, drink, or sleep.
Actions
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 0 ft., one creature in the swarm's space. Hit: 7 (2d6) piercing damage, or 3 (1d6) piercing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer. The target must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Aren't dead snakes already like that
simultaneously dumbest and greatest monster in 5e
I love the idea of an evil necromancer who goes through the effort of individually reanimating like, 30 snakes.
even better, he's not doing it for the army. he just feels bad for all the snakes he killed while training as a young wizard
He feels so bad that he cast so many fireballs, so he reanimated all those burnt snakes.
What about the Rug of smothering?
Actually running an Egyptian-themed adventure with a Yuan-ti Mummy Lord, and this is thematically perfect. Why did it have to be snakes!
