Amphibious. The bullywug can breathe air and water.

Speak with Frogs and Toads. The bullywug can communicate simple concepts to frogs and toads when it speaks in Bullywug.

Swamp Camouflage. The bullywug has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in swampy terrain.

Standing Leap. The bullywug’s long jump is up to 20 feet and its high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.

Smashing Rage. In battle, the battlefrog fights with primal ferocity. On its turn, it can enter a rage-like fury as a bonus action.

When smashing rage is activated, the battlefrog gains the following benefits if it isn’t wearing heavy armor:

  • It has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • When it makes a melee weapon attack using Strength, it gains a +2 bonus to the damage roll.
  • It has resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Smashing rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if the battlefrog is knocked unconscious or if its turn ends and it hasn’t attacked a hostile creature since its last turn or taken damage since then. It can also end its smashing rage on its turn as a bonus action.

The battlefrog must finish a long rest before it can use smashing rage again.

Actions

Multiattack. The bullywug makes two melee attacks: one with its bite and one with its spear.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d10 + 2) piercing damage plus 3 (1d4+1) poison damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the battlefrog can't bite another target.

Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage, or 7 (1d8+ 3) piercing damage if used with two hands to make a melee attack.

Swallow. The battlefrog makes one bite attack against a Medium or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the battlefrog, and it takes 7 (2d6) acid damage at the start of each of the battlefrog's turns. The battlefrog can have only one target swallowed at a time. If the battlefrog dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 5 feet of movement, exiting prone.
