The D&D Beyond Maps VTT allows you to create strategic and dynamic battle scenes using the monsters and maps from your digital library. But what if you want to do some interior design—a bed here, a pool of bubbling lava there?
Well, that's where Maps' newest feature—Stickers—comes in. With Stickers, you can place various props and effects directly onto the map, and Master Tier subscribers can start playing with a collection of 75+ stickers today!
Decorate Your Maps with Stickers
If you've ever seen a map and thought, “This would be perfect if only there were a dragon statue in the middle of the room,” you're in luck. Stickers on D&D Beyond's Maps VTT allow you to tailor any map to your unique situation.
With these generic environment additions, you could cover a grove in trees and shrubs to create cover, add a bridge across a raging river, or include a sewer grate that allows your party to escape a battle!
This can also help you create dynamic environments during an encounter. Maybe the red dragon that your players are confronting in its lair can expose pools of lava that the party has to navigate around. With Stickers, you can just drag in a lava pool, rotate it to fit, and scale it to the size you need!
The Sticker Browser
To access the stickers available on Maps, you'll need to open the Sticker Browser. This can be done either by clicking the bottom-most “Sticker” button on the side menu or pressing the “S” key.
Clicking a sticker will display a slide-out menu with all the sticker’s associated tags and a “+” button." You can search for stickers using their tags and add them to your map using the “+” button.
Manipulating Stickers
Much like overlays, stickers can be rotated and scaled. To rotate a sticker, you drag the rotate handle in the direction you want to turn it. For scaling, drag any of the four corner markers to increase and decrease the sticker's size.
While resizing a sticker, a handy scale indicator will be displayed so you know its size in the illustrated direction.
If you select a sticker, the familiar context menu will appear, giving you three options: toggle the sticker's visibility, lock its position, and delete.
If you select multiple stickers, you'll see a fourth option to group them, allowing you to manipulate them as a single object—you can even group stickers with overlays and tokens.
Drag and Drop Tokens and Stickers
Drag and drop functionality has made its way to Maps for both stickers and tokens! You can now drag any asset from its menu onto the map and drop it exactly where you want it.
Stick At It With Maps
With the addition of stickers, D&D Beyond's Maps VTT continues to grow as a streamlined and robust virtual tabletop for all your D&D needs.

Awesome updates on the VTT maps, love to see where this is going
That's a STEP in the good direction.
Definitely a needed update. I had been creating custom homebrew "Creatures" with the images of items I needed on the map previously. I truly hope they will add the ability to add your own stickers, as it's highly unlikely their library will contain all the weird odds and ends DMs (and Players!) come up with as manipulatives!
If we can upload our own, then how can they get us to pay extra for the books with stickers included?
Woot
$ No money No Honey... Seems the stickers are for sale only.
Adding a bandit to an encounter gives me the standard token. Is there a way for you to add the possibility to easily change the token picture?
I mean a bandit could also be female, an elf, or a halfling etc.
This is actually... a really good addition to Maps! I'd like to see more neat stuff like this.
Im master sub DM, im playing with both my groups on MAPS vtt. Lately im considering changing my vtt, many other vtts provides a dynamic fog of war such as foundry and roll20. While stickers are really a blessed addition to the platform, i dont understand why the advancement of fog of war is not the num1 priority - lets say it, the fog of war MAPS provide is just cringing and the minute youll change that you will pretty much beat all other vtt in market.
Plus, it would be really great to be able to send to the game log a skill info
Fog of war would be awesome, but it takes some rigorous effort to implement effectively (especially with windows etc). I can understand why they would add other things first. However since maps vtt is still in beta I am pretty sure they are considering adding this if not currently working on it.
Aswell, my players cant help them to move around their tokens all the time.
When I used foundry I never used auto reveal, since the players revealed stuff that they should not. They are low tech guys. 😂
And one guy is one of two things, either semiafk always lagging behind with his token from the group, or moving his token to far ahead from the group when he gets bored with the group discussing...
tbh, im just enjoying MAPS so much i completely forgot its still a beta lol. thanks
Yeah! This is great! Thank you guys so much. I have seen several posts on hopefully adding custom stickers, I second this! I haven't checked it out yet, but still, pre-made stickers do help me a lot. It would also be cool to have stickers that represented buildings, stuctures, and even walls and doors. That way you could on the spot build alleys and narrowed down places on city maps. Just something I wished for a bit ago. Thank you all!
True, but same for homebrew monsters, spells, Subclasses, etc. I have numerous times homebrewed existing Subclasses or races in books I own but don't have on DDB. I think it is the creative spirit of D&D to be able to create and add your own stuff. It is a good point, bit if they don't add the feature, I think it would be against the creative freedom this app allows.
Love this feature!
Good Job ..... add own stickers plz
I love these! I just hope more will be added because there are some things not there yet that are needed for my current campaign.
🤯 You just opened up a whole new concept to me ("state stickers")!! Thank you!! Maybe even stickers with opacity (for the AoE spells, etc.)? I haven't been able to check this feature out yet, is that a thing already?
Very excited, you guys are doing great work! Thank you research and dev artists!! 😃🤜🤛💥
Did we not already have this? You know what, never mind. I don't have master tier. But it sounds cool, in theory. Good job developers! (Is that what we call them in this context? Is it programmers? Nevermind.)
We didn't, it is, it is, and developers is fine.
