Unlock Your Creative Genius

Eberron is a world where elemental airships navigate the skies, lightning rail connects vast spans of land, and powerful houses constantly vie for influence. What kind of character will you build to brave these unforgettable adventures?
Shape the World as an Artificer
Become a visionary who sees spells as if they were schematics with the Artificer class! Tinker with magical items, craft Construct companions, and stride into battle wielding weapons of your own making.
In your hands, magic becomes a means to unleash invention in its purest form.
Create Heroes Bound by Blood and Legacy
Swear allegiance to one of the dragonmarked houses—ancient bloodlines whose arcane sigils grant them dominion over trade, travel, and healing—or defy your lineage, breaking from tradition to forge a destiny all your own.
With the new Dragonmark feats and house-focused backgrounds, legacy, power, and prophecy flow through your veins. These mystical marks can evolve into greater forms, unlocking potent abilities that shape your character's story and the fate of those around them.
Choose from Iconic Species
Step into the world as a Warforged, a sentient Construct built for battle and now seeking purpose. Blend in—or stand out—as a Changeling, a shape-shifter who walks the world wearing different faces. Or play as one of the Khoravar, descendants of two worlds who have formed their own communities and traditions.

🤩
Half-Elf is BACK BABYYYYYYYY
(for those who don't know, Khoravar is the name for Half-Elves in the Eberron setting)
No mention of Shifters or Kalashtar?
the cartographer is kinda boring and without a sturdy concept, but i love me some artificer
If you go to the marketplace and look at thw book there is art that looks like a Kalashtar, and there was some shifter art on the homepage before this artical came out.
They are not going to be half-elves. Half-elves are not going to be a 2024 species:
Eberron: Forge of the Artificer serves as a "companion" book to Eberron: Rising From The Last War, with looks at different parts of Eberron that wasn't explored in the previous rulebook. The book will include new backgrounds, new bastion options tied to Eberron, and expanded rules for airships. The book also includes some changes/evolutions of Eberron lore. Notably, dragonmarked houses are no longer "species-locked" with characters able to join the houses later in life. Dragonmarks are also being made into feats as opposed to having a separate subsystem.
As a note, lead rules designer Jeremy Crawford specifically noted that the Khoravar are being considered a new species and distinct from half-elves. Crawford noted that this change came from Eberron lore itself and reflects how the existing lore of D&D is influencing the mechanics.
This is what they have said regarding the species in the book:
What will the monsters be? I can only assume quori, since those are unique and don't fit into other settings at all, but what else? Daelkyr or their pets?
"A new spell" so we're getting one whole spell. K...
What do they mean by "campaign frameworks" here?
Right so all the other stuff is just chopped liver. K...
Hopefully, they've read the Daggerheart Core Rulebook and it will be something like what Critical Role has done in that book. Alternatively, I wonder if it will be something like the Greyhawk chapter of the 5.4th edition DMG.
Does anybody know if you definitely do/do not need the 2019 Eberron book? (I've read/seen different opinions on this and wonder if WotC have said something definitive.) [UPDATE: Oops, Melfast already commented on this at #7]

I hope they put the artificer into Creative Commons so third party creators can put their own spin on things
Personally, I feel like the way they're rolling out the new artificer is a mistake... I only ever got the 2014 Artificer via Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and that had significant amount of stuff for all classes. I'm not paying $30+ for unlocking an update to a single class I already had.
There are good reasons for DMs to keep something off the table, and a lack of access to the rules of said thing is reason number 1... They should have been focusing on a larger supplemental book with both Artificer revisions AND revisions to Xanathar's Guide to Everything subclasses and spells.
2024 PHB/MM/DMG was worth buying, but nothing here is convincing me of anything other than leaving Artificers stuck on the last UA or 2014.
Please bring back the kobold!!
I feel like they'll eventually release a new book like Volo's that brings things like Kobolds, Hobgoblins, etc.
Here's hoping one of the new species is Gnolls, since there is gnoll art. Buying it either way, just hoping for hyenas.
They said 5 new species, so most likely it'll be Warforged, Khoravar, Kalashtar, Changelings, and Shifters: the original Eberron species.
I, for one, am not happy with the new warforged art. Giving them a nose and removing their iconic look just doesn't sit well with me. They don't even have the Ghulra mark on their foreheads! I know it's a minor nit-pick, and I can ignore it in my Eberron, but it makes the art feel soulless.
Gnolls don't seem to have been mentioned in any of the pre-release stuff, so either it's a surprise or it's meant to be a shifter.
It kinda is, compare this to what we would get for the same price not too long ago. We get updated feats, class and subclasses to work with the new rules. There is not much actually new, just updates and one new subclass. I hope it's good but I kind of feel like this is all we are going to get for a while, what essentially amounts to patches for the new rules. Seems like a lot of money for not a lot of benefit, cause we could just continue to play 2014 and not have to worry about the patches.
My point about the spells was this, the main point of this book is the Artificer, a magic class. If they are adding a whole new class, that cast spells, you would think there would be more than one spell thematic to that class.
