What do you think about the Everlasting Rime animated dice? Let us know in the comments- ice puns only, please!
Yeah I would think that after a month or two they’d find a new one
D&D Beyond has a new writer!
It does? Who? Where did you find out? Super excited!
At least, I'm assuming this article being written by "Joe Starr" rather than D&D Beyond staff means so.
I thought he was already part of their staff. That's not true?
Snow way! This is an ice set of dice! Really cool, fellas! Even in the deepest snow men, these will roll to and fro, zen as ever. Chilled to the bone, enemies will freeze in place, finding themselves in a slippery condition! When push comes to shove... they'll have to learn to let it go! It is Rime to rumble.
from now on this set will be referred to simply as dICE
same, it's just another article pushing you to subscribe. The VTT would be great(especially if it is interactable with dndbeyond sheets and official adventures license), but that's a seriously long-term plan
I don't snow if these are worth paying for. I mean, if it was a one-rime payment, I would do it, but you have to pay annually so I don't think I'll get them. They are cool, but not ice enough to keep paying for. D&D Beyond has sled us here so that we'll subscribe over some virtual dice, but I seriously doubt that it's worth it to do so.
So are articles just going to be dedicated to promoting deals and sales now? It's also slightly misleading to call this 'free' when you have to still pay via subscription to be granted them.
If you guys don't want to hire any new writing staff then that's fine, if still rather unfortunate, but if that's the case then it's going to be pretty lame just to keep your articles on life support purely for corporate goals. Archive the creative articles and just add a separate 'Deals' or 'Promotions' section where we'll find this so we know exactly who we are dealing with and not just an attempt to guise a soilless brand as a friend.
I also want to clarify this is not aimed at Joe Starr - nothing against them. This is directly aimed at D&D Beyond itself or whoever thought it was in good taste to go through with these last few posts thinking no one would notice the sudden lack of a writing team/one person carrying the entire weight of the site's creative integrity.
As they say here in the far North. "EVER COOL!"
Just Used them with my small gang of Players. They were as cool as Ice and made many sacrifice!
Love the ice sound effect and the special effects on the 20! Looking forward to seeing more of these!
Thanks. They’re awesome. I have no original dICE puns, sorry.
Frosty
The VTT is on their roadmap, but that's a BIG project to do, and Subscribers are their main source of income, of course they'd push for it, especially with how some parts of the community are still so adamantly anti-tech for D&D.
nICE dICE
This is just awesome! Really amazing looking dice, with a very cool effect :D
love them
The ice puns hurt!
All hail ice puns!
