Empathetic Leaders

Boss Monsters are humanoid goat-people, characterised by their fair white fur with tufts of yellow and claws instead of hooves. Boss Monsters are natural leaders, and many battles have been spear-headed by a Boss Monster captain due to not only their fire powers but their deep empathy. Boss Monsters are best known for their compassion and almost always spare their foes then kill. However, this kindness lead to their downfall.

The History Of Boss Monsters

Many years ago, Boss Monsters and humans waged war on each other. As the war reached a close, the Boss Monster king tried to spare the humans lives from the attacks of his kin, but the humans reciprocated this kindness with hatred. They pushed the Boss Monsters into the Underdark, sealing them away with long forgotten dark arts to keep them trapped unless they were determined to break free through the barrier to fight the humans with all their soul. Very few Boss Monsters ever attempt to reach the surface, as doing so is the hardest challenge they could face; to hate.

Boss Monster Traits

As a Boss Monster, you are imbued with many powers.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score increases by 2 and your Charisma increases by 1.

Darkvision

In the bleak Underdark, Boss Monsters developed 60ft Darkvision.

Fire Magic

You know the Firebolt cantrip. At 3rd level you get the Burning Hands spell. At 6th level you get the Fireball spell. You can cast these spells with no material components and no spell slots. You can cast these spells once then recharge at a long or short rest.

Sparing Words

As an action you can spare your enemies instead of kill them. The enemy must not be of the Evil alignment and be under challenge level 1. This increases to challenge level 2 at 3rd level and challenge level 3 at 6th level. The creature then becomes non-hostile but is under no obligation to be friends. You can re use this feature after you take a short rest.
