Her father stood on the first of the three stairs that led down from the portal, unmoving. The scales of his face had grown paler around the edges, but Clanless Mehen still looked as if he could wrestle down a dire bear himself. His familiar well-worn armor was gone, replaced by violet-tinted scale armor with bright silvery tracings. There was a blazon on his arm as well, the mark of some foreign house. The sword at his back was the same, though, the one he had carried since even before he had found the twins left in swaddling at the gates of Arush Vayem.
For all her life, Farideh had known that reading her father’s face was a skill she’d been fortunate to learn. A human who couldn’t spot the shift of her eyes or Havilar’s would certainly see only the indifference of a dragon in Clanless Mehen’s face. But the shift of scales, the arch of a ridge, the set of his eyes, the gape of his teeth—her father’s face spoke volumes.
But every scale of it, this time, seemed completely still—the indifference of a dragon, even to Farideh.
Born of dragons, as their name proclaims, the dragonborn walk proudly through a world that greets them with fearful incomprehension. Shaped by draconic gods or the dragons themselves, dragonborn originally hatched from dragon eggs as a unique race, combining the best attributes of dragons and humanoids. Some dragonborn are faithful servants to true dragons, others form the ranks of soldiers in great wars, and still others find themselves adrift, with no clear calling in life.
Proud Dragon Kin
Dragonborn look very much like dragons standing erect in humanoid form, though they lack wings or a tail. The first dragonborn had scales of vibrant hues matching the colors of their dragon kin, but generations of interbreeding have created a more uniform appearance. Their small, fine scales are usually brass or bronze in color, sometimes ranging to scarlet, rust, gold, or copper-green. They are tall and strongly built, often standing close to 6½ feet tall and weighing 300 pounds or more. Their hands and feet are strong, talonlike claws with three fingers and a thumb on each hand.
The blood of a particular type of dragon runs very strong through some dragonborn clans. These dragonborn often boast scales that more closely match those of their dragon ancestor—bright red, green, blue, or white, lustrous black, or gleaming metallic gold, silver, brass, copper, or bronze.
Self-Sufficient Clans
To any dragonborn, the clan is more important than life itself. Dragonborn owe their devotion and respect to their clan above all else, even the gods. Each dragonborn’s conduct reflects on the honor of his or her clan, and bringing dishonor to the clan can result in expulsion and exile. Each dragonborn knows his or her station and duties within the clan, and honor demands maintaining the bounds of that position.
A continual drive for self-improvement reflects the self-sufficiency of the race as a whole. Dragonborn value skill and excellence in all endeavors. They hate to fail, and they push themselves to extreme efforts before they give up on something. A dragonborn holds mastery of a particular skill as a lifetime goal. Members of other races who share the same commitment find it easy to earn the respect of a dragonborn.
Though all dragonborn strive to be self-sufficient, they recognize that help is sometimes needed in difficult situations. But the best source for such help is the clan, and when a clan needs help, it turns to another dragonborn clan before seeking aid from other races—or even from the gods.

Dragonborn have personal names given at birth, but they put their clan names first as a mark of honor. A childhood name or nickname is often used among clutchmates as a descriptive term or a term of endearment. The name might recall an event or center on a habit.

DRACONIANS
In the Dragonlance setting, the followers of the evil goddess Takhisis learned a vile ritual that let them corrupt the eggs of metallic dragons, producing evil dragonborn called draconians. Five types of draconians, corresponding to the five types of metallic dragons, fought for Takhisis in the War of the Lance: auraks (gold), baaz (brass), bozak (bronze), kapak (copper), and sivak (silver). In place of their draconic breath weapons, they have unique magical abilities.

Age
Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. They live to be around 80.

Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Draconic Ancestry
You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table.

Breath Weapon
You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
Damage Resistance
You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

The Draconians of Krynn
Draconians are created by corrupting good dragon eggs. These are the eggs the Quenn of Darkness swore to protect in return for the good dragons' pledge not to interfere in her war against the peopled of Krynn.
The corruption of the eggs is the work of an evil triad. Wyrllish the cleric, Dracart the mage, and the ancient red dragon Harkiel the Bender. Through arcane spells they cause the eggs to grow and their occupants to multiply. Then Wyrllish opens the gate to the Abyss and the abishai (the Dark Queens minions) rush forth to inhabit the newly created bodies. Draconians are creature of magical origins and when they are slain, the odd enchantments thast formed them create spectacular death scenes.
(I do not know of any evil dragon eggs that were corrupted, I am not saying it did not happen, but most likely I probably did not rear those novels.)
Auraks - Corrupted Gold Dragon eggs - The most powerful of the draconians (and also the most rare), cannot fly but are powerful magic users and still retain a breath weapon (a noxious gas) - upon reaching 0 hit points, immolates itself with eerie green flames and enters a fighting frenzy causing flame damage to its opponents, six rounds later, or -20 hp (whichever come first) turns itself into a whizzing ball of lightning causing electric damage to those struck, three rounds after that it explodes causing thunder damage to all within 10 feet of it and stunning all within 10 feet, no save allowed.
Baaz - Corrupted Brass Dragon eggs - the smallest but most numerous of draconians - retains wings but used more for gliding rather than actual flight - no breath weapon - upon reaching 0 hit points, it turns into a stone statue (dex save to not have weapon stuck in dead draconian statue. The statue crumble to dust in 1d4 rounds)
Bozaks - Corrupted Bronze Dragon eggs - the magic users of the draconians (equivalent of 4th level wizards) - retains wings but used more for gliding rather than actual flight - no breath weapon - upon reaching 0 hit points, its scaley flesh shrivels and crumbles from its bones in a cloud of dust, then the bones explode causing 1d6 damage to all within 10 feet (no saving throw)
Kapaks - Corrupted Copper Dragon eggs - most often used as assassins by the Dragon Highlords because of their venomous saliva they use to coat their weapon - retains wings but used more for gliding rather than actual flight - no breath weapon but their saliva is a powerful paralytic poison (save to avoid the paralyzing effect) - upon reaching 0 hit points, its body instantly dissolves into a 10 foot wide pool of acid. (acid damage per round spent in the pool, no save). The acid evaporated in 1d6 rounds.
Sivaks - Corrupted Silver Dragon eggs - the second most powerful draconians - has wings and are the only draconian capable of true flight - no breath weapon - Sivaks are shapeshifters capable of changing their form under two specific conditions: When a Sivak slays a humanoid of its size (Large) or smaller it may assume the form of its victim. The Sivak does not gain any memories, experiences, mannerisms, items, equipment, etc., but the victims appearance and voice are exact matches. The Sivak can change back to its own form at any time, but cannot polymorph again until it slays another humanoid. - upon reaching 0 hit points, the Sivak assumes the form of the creature that killed it. This death shape lasts for three days, then the entire body decomposes into black soot. Sivaks who are killed by creatures larger than themselves will burst into flames causing damage to all within 10 feet (no save) rather than change form.
I like the Dragonborn but it still bothers me most
What does the White Dragonborn correspond to? The evil goddess or something else?

The color of the Dragonborn are not necessarily indicative of their personality. White, Blue, Green, Red, and Black dragonborn can all be good, a Gold dragonborn can be evil, or so on. White Dragons are evil, white dragonborn are not inherently evil.
If you mean the art then nothing. It's just artist decision for a white dragonborn being this subrace of Dragonborn. They aren't evil like white dragons are.

Could you explain to me that why those two variants are good? I think both traded out the only not bad ability (Damage Resistance) for an unimpressive short rest ability and darkvision.
They didn’t trade anything out. If you create a character using the subrace, they receive the normal Dragonborn traits, as well as the traits from their subrace.
EDIT: I see that they’re SUPPOSED to lose the damage resistance, but right not on dnd beyond they don’t. Either way, while that was their best ability before, the addition of darkvision and unique racial abilities is plenty worth the trade off to the situational usefulness of a damage resistance to me.
Aren’t Metallic Dragonborns supposed to have two breath weapons? Metallic dragons have the two breath weapons. Shouldn’t The dragonborns have two as well
Its not 3.5e anymore that was two editions ago old man the lore is different dragonborns are a true race now you can be born into a dragonborn can do whatever they want and dont exactly like actual dragons now now they can willingly serve those so get your old opinions out of here its not bull now its the lore homebrew it if you hate it
Spoilers for dragon lance novels
Draconian are a race specifically from the dragon lance setting, predating Dragonborn I believe. Unrelated.
After a deal between the Gods to stop the devastating wars of good dragons vs evil dragons, the dragons were all put to sleep. Of course they should have checked their enemies alignment, they would have found them unlawful. The forces of evil stole the eggs of the slumbering good dragons, all being metallic, and used dark magics to create the reptilian super soldiers called draconians. They would all be colored and vary in ability related to their egg color, with some flavor of tarnished or mottled of color.
Late in the new war that started, the forces of evil were desperate and tried the draconian ritual on evil dragon eggs. However these came out almost entirely tending towards good alignments being titled ''Noble" draconian. They later mention after the war, some draconians of all colors leaving their evil Masters and over coming their essential brainwashing to be their own race and new nation.

I felt this needed to be documented. We did a one off through vid-chat, due to the COVID19 making us stay home. I decided to make my character a Green Dragonborn Rouge named Viras Coroona. and my Dragons Breath was turned into coughing. I am currently playing with them and when we get the loot I am going to cough on everyone and steal the loot. I'm unsure how this will go but it feels right for whats going on in the world.
You no joke lol. I started to get confused when I saw the dwarves and kajiet. Plus you know wood and dark elves.
