Lightning
You unleash an arc of lightning at a creature or object. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 lightning damage.
Before the attack roll choose one option below to take affect during the attack:
- Conductive: If the target is wearing or carrying anything metal the attack has advantage
- Distracting: If hit, the creature has disadvantage on the CON save to maintain concentration for this attack
- Shocking: If hit, the creature must make a CON save, on a fail the creature cannot take reactions until the start of its next turn
- Sparking: If hit, the creature or object light on fire if naturally possible
- If a creature is ignited, it takes 1d4 fire damage at the end of its turn until the flame is extinguished
* If you forget to choose before the attack roll none of the affects are activated
This spell's damage increases by 2d4 when you reach 5th level (3d4), 11th level (5d4), and 17th level (7d4).
** Idea behind this is that an electric shock IRL would have all the affects above. The versatility comes out of the caster focusing on what the electricity will do and the damage of the spell is balanced by the smaller range, I'd argue.
