Acid
You hurl a bubble of acid. Choose one or two creatures you can see within range. If you choose two, they must be within 5 feet of each other. A target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 acid damage.
This spell’s damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
Can't target objects? Where's my flavor?!
It's actually better if it can't target object. If it's harmless to anything that's not alive, and it specifies "creatures" (which include automatons and animated constructs), then just acid-splash any table, door, or chest you see to check for mimics.
I like your thinking. good sir xD
Could you bottle this? It is a conjure.
If so this would be a good get rich fast spell. Acid vials sell for 25g, a glass vile 1g, and I would say it is at least a pint (given that a pint of oil covers a 5ft square and this has a splash of 5 ft) A vial is 4 ounces, so I can get 4 of them out of the pint (a pint being 16 ounces).
25gx 4 vials - 4g for the vials =96g for a cast of a cantrip and some supplies. Not too bad.
Just walk into a room spraying acid everywhere
I think it disappears after it's used to counter this precise exploit.
Unfortunately not. The spell has an instantaneous duration, meaning the acid only exists for long enough to hit or miss a target, then disappears.
When you can only target creatures, it would be difficult enough to get it inside a glass vial, let alone to keep it existing for long enough to sell.
So while it is indeed a conjuration spell... unfortunately the conjured acid doesn't stick around :/

I find myself wishing Spell SNiper worked with save spell ranges too.. Even if it was just 1/2 distance instead of double
Hmm...I'm picturing a Black Dragonborn Wizard, who shoots acid with their breathe weapon...and just spits it with this cantrip.
Have to name them...I'm thinking Gnarly.
Feels like a nickname that would stick with them.
Sorta like acid.
it is a nice cantrip for alchemists since both targets get +Int damage.
I wondered why druids couldn’t use it, than I remember there nature related
Mimics are immune to acid
I just realized this is super weak unless you’re fighting something with acid weaknesses. Even as a cantrip. Go for fire bolt, or ray of frost, even shocking hands has more practical uses.
That.... Makes me very sad
Acid Splash actually doesn’t require sight so if this could be changed that’d be nice
Humans are immune to having jam thrown on them, doesn't mean you won't react to having that happen 😝
How do you mean? It says very clearly "creatures you can see within range", how does it not require sight?
You hurl a bubble of acid. Choose one or two creatures you can see within range.
In the phb it says “You hurl a bubble of acid. Choose one creature within range, or choose two creatures within range that are within 5 feet of each other. A target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 acid acid damage.”
