This spell lets you convince a beast that you mean it no harm. Choose a beast that you can see within range. It must see and hear you. If the beast's Intelligence is 4 or higher, the spell fails. Otherwise, the beast must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by you for the spell's duration. If you or one of your companions harms the target, the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can affect one additional beast for each slot level above 1st.

Emotional Support Pet?
by intelligence of 4 or higher is it talking about the modifier or the score?
My friend pacified a tyrannosaurus rex with this 1st-level spell. Most anticlimactic encounter ever.
It's referring to the creature's Intelligence score. If it were referring to it's modifier, it'd definitely mention that explicitly.
At higher levels, i.e. effecting more than one beast, if you or your companions harm one beast does the spell end for them all, or just the one harmed? At first I thought just the one harmed, but now I'm not sure. Can you charm a pack of wolves then butcher them one by one while the, as yet unharmed ones, wait wagging their tails?
Nice

How to tame your wyvern
0. get a understanding dm/convince dm to let you cast it at a disadvantage
1. Cast it on wyvern Until it works
2. Train it when the spell’s effect is still on
3. Keep casting it before 24 hours runs up
4. Make it your familiar
5 profit
@nitro nina The problem being its very hard to know which monstrosities have such low intelligence.
they should have made it to where the effect still stands or you could tame one animal with higher intellagence
Ask your DM.
I will torture the animals by giving them food, telling them if they go to a certain point they can eat the food, and then after they travel hundreds of feet, they start eating the food before dying to poisoning.
very cool . i like dogs
Non-RAW question: How come the material component isn’t consumed?
Yes
The scary part about the mark of handling is that purple worms and rocs are fair game.
