A beam of crackling energy streaks toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 force damage.
The spell creates more than one beam when you reach higher levels: two beams at 5th level, three beams at 11th level, and four beams at 17th level. You can direct the beams at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each beam.

Posted Dec 27, 2023Was wondering. If a player were to double the maximum beams EB can produce starting at 2 at 1st level and 8 at 17th level. On average, would that be over powered? This includes the usual invocations.
Maybe make it once per action or turn to balance it out?
(I know about the multiclass warlock, Sorcerer, fighter multiclass combos)

Posted Feb 3, 2024Can't legally be twinned above level 4, as after that it can hit multiple targets.

Posted Mar 8, 2024Question: Is there any official ruling on the timing of Eldritch Blast bolts after level 5? Does the Warlock have to declare the target of each bolt before rolling, or can they fire one bolt, see the result, then select the target for the second bolt? There's nothing in the spell description itself.

Posted Mar 26, 2024Yes, there is. You can choose each target consecutively, or do them all at once. This was addressed in the Sage Advice Compendium (scroll down to "Spell Attacks") which says:

Posted Apr 10, 2024A question for the DMs and experts please! If i am level 5+ and therefore using 2 beams per casting, if i were then to use sorcery points to the effect of quickened spell, do i gain an additional 2 blasts on the same target to reflect my level OR just a solitary bonus blast (ie 3 blasts in total) I need to know the extent of my battle spamming potential. Thanks!

Posted Apr 10, 2024this didn't occur to me so thank you - still think its worth holding onto twinned for other sells in the arsenal though otherwise i'd drop it altogether

Posted Apr 17, 2024Scroll a few comments down and you’ll see I specify you can, it’s just between levels 1-4 that you can twin it while it only shoots one beam.
Haste doesn’t let you use the extra action to cast a spell in 5e. You could get 3 casts for 12 blasts in one turn though if your character had quicken spell and Action Surge.

Posted Jun 11, 2024I once had a player that had a space hamster spellcaster sidekick and I let it have feats which equaled eldritch adept so at level 17 with a 20 in charisma it was like a Pokemon
