You bring forth a great feast, including magnificent food and drink. The feast takes 1 hour to consume and disappears at the end of that time, and the beneficial effects don’t set in until this hour is over. Up to twelve creatures can partake of the feast.
A creature that partakes of the feast gains several benefits. The creature is cured of all diseases and poison, becomes immune to poison and being frightened, and makes all Wisdom saving throws with advantage. Its hit point maximum also increases by 2d10, and it gains the same number of hit points. These benefits last for 24 hours.
* - (a gem-encrusted bowl worth at least 1,000 gp, which the spell consumes)
I'm honestly surprised no one has made a single post about this

Can we get a status effect or something we can apply to put all of the Hero's Feast stuff to the Character sheet with 1 button? That would be awesome
A chef or culinary character will usually find a way to cast this spell.
While cleric's naturally gain this spell, I'd hazard that a druid would be more appropriate...and provide a good plot-hook for the druid: they brave the wilds looking for exotic ingredients.
A bard, too, could gain this spell as a Magical Secret...though given the scarcity of this feature, it would have to be a role-playing decision to take this spell over other arguably more valuable spells.
For those of us that play with material components, 1000gp bowl gets consumed? Holy hell.
This is literally just an anti- green dragon spell. Imagine the look on your DM's face when he realizes as you walk up to the dragon that you all have extra hit points and are immune to both it's frightening presence and it's FREAKING BREATH WEAPON.
That's typically why, as the most cunning of the dragon chromatic dragons, green dragons often invest greatly in magical items, followers and skills that allow them to counter other magics and special abilities.
Genie Warlock's level 14 limited wish. THis is an absolute steller choice for wish before a big thing. ARguably so is Aid level 6 upcast
Can't do that. Limited Wish from Genie Warlock:
I bolded the relevant part. Heroes' Feast takes 10 minutes to cast unfortunately.
With TCOE the bard can can get this spell normally, which is really cool
The cost is intentionally prohibitive. This is something a DM has an NPC use on your party if they want you to have those buffs, not something you cast yourself on a regular, or even semi-regular basis.
This is the whole point of this spell. There is a whole section in the androsphinx description about how it rewards people who please it by giving them magic items and casting this spell for them. Also its a great spell to have if you're a king. Money isnt a problem and now you wont be poisoned by those conspirators
Once you have this spell gold is basically meaningless and you have so much it's a burden.
If you don't play with material components, this spell is incredibly overpowered. The material components are how it is balanced.
The perfect meal before a dragon fight. Especially green.
I cast this before we fought demons and their poison damage and frightens had no effect. DM was not happy
Honestly, even the average king is going to be hard pressed to maintain an additional 1000 gp a day expense, no matter how hard they put the squeeze on the peasants. Looking at the numbers, I'd say they objectively could not bring that much gold in without crashing the entire economy of their kingdom, assuming it was even possible. Also there's a magic item with the same effect. Rare, so it would cost more up front, but it would be a one-time purchase and make a good heirloom item to protect a bloodline.
If that's the case you have a bad DM.
In the game I run, this is definitely not the case. Gold is valuable as it should be and scarcely thrown around. In a game that I play in however, this is very much the case. We have a few hundred thousand platinum. We don't even use gold anymore, we stopped tracking our gold at 20,000, and now we specifically only use platinum to buy things. In fact the last town we went to we straight up bought the alchemy shop. We just dropped a bucket of platinum on the counter and said "we'll take it!" to which the shop keep said "take what?" and we said "all of it, the whole shop!" Probably gave him more than what it was worth and set him up for life but now we own an alchemy shop and an alchemist.
Actually, if you go by the treasure tables in the Dungeon Master's Guide then it's not that hard, especially if you hit up a few enemy treasure hoards. Even if you only get money from the individual treasure tables, that's still per player so you can pool it since everyone benefits from the spell. Also this spell isn't something you need to use every day (though none of the benefits are bad to have just in case). A reasonably prudent party should be able to gather up enough gold to buy the component pretty easily, even more-so if you have any property that can generate money like a tavern or shop.
The spell's pretty good, and I think it's one most parties can benefit from. Unfortunately for my Bard this spell is way too selfless for him, so he'll be taking programmed illusion instead, mostly to annoy people and run obnoxious advertising for said tavern. 😂
