Communication (...)
You point your finger toward a creature within range and whisper a message. The target (and only the target) hears the message and can reply in a whisper that only you can hear.
You can cast this spell through solid objects if you are familiar with the target and know it is beyond the barrier. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks the spell. The spell doesn't have to follow a straight line and can travel freely around corners or through openings.

Dose anyone know how much snow or ice blocks message ?
How might you rule a player casting Message to communicate with a Valenar Steed to which they are not bonded in a language that both creatures know? A Valenar Steed can’t speak, but Message says the target can reply in a whisper. Does Message grant the target the ability to whisper? This is a stretch, right? I assume it is implied that “a creature capable of whispering can reply in a whisper” is the intent. It’s a blurry line though. What about a creature that is capable of whispering, but can’t whisper at the moment? Only the target hears the message, but does only the caster hear the reply? If the target must physically/audibly whisper, can another creature near the target hear the reply?
I would wager that snow would be equivalent to wood, and solid ice would be more akin to metal.
Well, then they would need to know it?
Hi hello to
uhm
Is it possible to reply to the message if you are currently not able to speak, like when you are gagged or injured ?
For example my bard send a message to a prisoner that the party wanted to break free but the prisoner got his tongue cut out. DM and I weren't sure if he would be able to reply because they state that the reply would be whispered, but without his tongue the prisoner wasn't able to articulate words. Same would be if the target is gagged of temporarily lost their voice (nonmagical of course).
Please help because we are not getting anywhere with our thoughts.
Since the spell has a verbal component, I would be inclined to rule that neither party can send a message in either direction if for whatever reason they can't speak. That said, in your scenario the prisoner might still be able to communicate some very basic concepts, as a person with no tongue can still make sounds, just not the full complexities of a language.
Hi,
My brother made my account name, it's not appropriate. Can you please change it to Aubthegoblin, thanks so much!
