Teleportation
Briefly surrounded by silvery mist, you teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see.
> "While your familiar is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. Additionally, as an action, you can see through your familiar’s eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the familiar has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.
"
The spell says a target you can see, but I think the wording in find familiar is only to indicate that you don't have both your own and your familiars senses. I would say Rules As Written it should be allowed (but could be reasoned either way). I think allowing it might open some doors you'd rather keep closed. If this is allowed then other spells with the same wording should be allowed to be cast in the same way as well. It might actually be really fun and creative to polymorph a guard or something from behind a door that your spider familiar crawled under, as long as it's not abused.
I would allow that, personally.
Can you Misty Step through a Wall of Force?
Yes.
I assume you can Misty Step into open space, so 30 feet up?
What races get this as a trait?
This is possible with the Ready action. While the fall damage rules lead us to believe that you mysteriously teleport 500ft down as soon as you jump off a cliff, we know this is not the case, it's just the best way the designers could find to rule falling.
Grapple enemy turn 1.
Turn 2 use ready action, when I reach 30ft from the ledge, Misty Step to the ledge. Then walk off.
This requires both your reaction once the ready requirement is triggered, plus your bonus action to Misty Step. Since you're just pulling some poor hobo off a cliff, you probably have both of those available, so +1.
I don't understand where this comes from. I just did a search and could not find this text in the Misty Step spell, nor anywhere else in the content.
If I stunning strike a caster and succeed, can they still cast misty step?
Stunning strike incapacitates you, so no action or reaction and can only speak falteringly.
Misty Step is a Verbal-only bonus action.
"To be readied, a spell must have a casting time of 1 action"
You cannot use misty step as a reaction. So no, its not possible. No reason why your DM can't make the rule up though - rule of cool!
I don’t think so
Im making a dark elf fighter and when I created my character it gave me this spell (lvl 1) I’m looking through the PHB and I can’t find it anywhere. I have no idea why DnD beyond gave me this spell
What a boring and uninspired spell!
pepnis
Unless used as a bonus action under fey traits for elves and the like. I'm that instance, it doesn't use a spell slot once per day.
PHB page 189: effects that block your action also block any bonus action
The Horizon Walker also has access to it
Can you misty step Through keyholes and windows if you can see through it ?
The wording is that you teleport 30 ft, with a range of self, that means 30ft from your self. Using something else for your senses does not replace your physical position. But you could use this combo creatively: viewing a spot 30 ft from yourself, that you would not be able to see from your current position. You could also use a familiar to do this as well.
