Posted Nov 15, 2021There was technically a sound, since it is power WORD kill, and it also has VERBAL components, which means there IS a sound.

Posted Jan 7, 2022If it was 0 HP it would be worded as downed, so roll a new PC kind of kill.

Posted Mar 21, 2022So if you have a magic user that is currently using a mirror image spell and has 3 mirror images and you cast power word kill and your d20 roll indicates that you targeted a mirror image rather than the actual mage, how does that affect the mage?

Posted Jun 2, 2022I agree with Antares8001. This spell isn't as useful as it sounds. But I think that maybe if this spell was modified and it did like a bunch of necrotic damage or something if the target has over 100 HP, or if it was a 6th or 7th level spell instead like Antares, said, than I think it would be 10x better. But I still love this spell, it's one of my favorites lol :D

Posted Jun 8, 2022Not really. It's a ninth level spell, and does nothing if the target has more than 100hp. When you reach 9th level spells, most pcs and monsters have more than 100hp.

Posted Jun 27, 2022My druid laughs at this.
1. He casts a 7th level firestorm (concentration)
Bonus action wild shape into a badger and burrows underground
2. Chances are, whoever is cating that spell is at disadvantage because of the fire storm all around them.
But after a few rounds I'll emerge from my burrow, then cast MY 9th, True Resurrection on whoever did get hit with PWK,
