This spell is a minor magical trick that novice spellcasters use for practice. You create one of the following magical effects within range:
- You create an instantaneous, harmless sensory effect, such as a shower of sparks, a puff of wind, faint musical notes, or an odd odor.
- You instantaneously light or snuff out a candle, a torch, or a small campfire.
- You instantaneously clean or soil an object no larger than 1 cubic foot.
- You chill, warm, or flavor up to 1 cubic foot of nonliving material for 1 hour.
- You make a color, a small mark, or a symbol appear on an object or a surface for 1 hour.
- You create a nonmagical trinket or an illusory image that can fit in your hand and that lasts until the end of your next turn.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
Can we please get Marisha or Matt on this pronunciation please? I've gotten it right 0 times outta 100.

They have done so a couple of time in the beginning of mighty nein.
How warm could you make something? Could you make your clothes nice and warm for a cold winter day, or just enough for slight comfort but no protection? Could you make a ghost appear for a moment to scare someone as an "instantaneous, harmless sensory effect"? Oh so many question, so many ideas
I would say: Yes, you can warm clothes for comfort, but not enough to hurt anyone. You could possibly create a "ghost" effect, but it would not cause anything other than momentary surprise. You can't create long-lasting fear that causes movement or any psychic damage.
@Karew: I would say that in combat, it doesnt work. But out of combat, maybe even in a scary place, if you manage to create the "ghost" without your victim noticing you, they may get scared and run away from the "ghost", as any sensible person would in a world where ghosts are real and can+will kill you.
My character wont remove his mask in public can I drink with my finger using this spell?
I'm curious what counts as soiling an object? Specifically what can I soil objects with? I'm just not sure what limits there are, outside of size.
A wizard in my party used presdigation on a dragon’s saliva. The dragon was about to kill him, he made the saliva taste like poo.
For nonmagical trinket could you make the material components for another spell?
Prestidigitation is useful for an boost to social skills:
Alas, this does not work vs. brown dragons lol
Useful to spice up the flavor from the bland food given by create food and water
Could it be used to cleanse or purify dirty or maybe poisoned water or food
If you drop your turkey-leg on the ground, could it clean off the dirt? Probably.
If you Mixed some Soil or Poison in with our soup, I would think you'd need to use "Purify Food and Drink"
"All nonmagical food and drink within a 5-foot-radius sphere centered on a point of your choice within range is purified and rendered free of poison and disease."
But like anything else, it would be up to the GM of the game.
Chance again with a great video. Love your style!

Curious what you'd think of them.
This is, by far, my favorite spell in the PHB. It has too many uses to count, rewarding creative players with an incredibly versatile toolkit.
Could I use this to cause someone to hear a mosquito buzzing around their ear when they try to sleep?
@Drenix
"Could I use this to cause someone to hear a mosquito buzzing around their ear when they try to sleep?"
I would say Prestidigitation cannot do that, but Minor Illusion can. With Prestidigitation you could lightly puff wind/pressure their skin so they try to slap the imaginary mosquito.
You can check the American Heritage Dictionary.
