You gain the ability to enter a tree and move from inside it to inside another tree of the same kind within 500 feet. Both trees must be living and at least the same size as you. You must use 5 feet of movement to enter a tree. You instantly know the location of all other trees of the same kind within 500 feet and, as part of the move used to enter the tree, can either pass into one of those trees or step out of the tree you're in. You appear in a spot of your choice within 5 feet of the destination tree, using another 5 feet of movement. If you have no movement left, you appear within 5 feet of the tree you entered.
You can use this transportation ability once per round for the duration. You must end each turn outside a tree.
Once heard a dnd story on Youtube where this spell was used to stop the BBEG. Really cool use of a really cool (but niche) spell. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwM3trTIyUU
Once heard a dnd story where a druid was in a futuristic campaign and used this spell to defeat the BBEG. They turned into a small kind of bird and used this spell to climb the tower via its bonsai trees! Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwM3trTIyUU
Edit: I reposted this comment because I thought it hadn't gone up when it had. Sorry about that!
Perfect for an outdoor campaign
with 30ft of movement you can move up to 3000 ft away just hopping from tree to tree, really good for escape routes, or giving it to an enemy and you need them to escape, or appear.
Oh, wow. If you take this action, use full movement to jump trees (at speed of 30), then for 9 turns use full movement plus dash to jump trees, you can travel 10 miles in a minute, unless I made some calculation error. Of course this requires a tree every 500 feet for those 10 miles, but if you were to build a sort of exclusive highway, maybe sped up with the plant growth spell...Never mind, this is all wrong, I just realized you can only use it once per round. It actually gets you to a little under one mile if you use it every round.
Gave a custom npc, neutral guardian of the forest this spell as a passive always-on ability.
It is really cool in a forest.
Could this be used on Treants and the trees they animate? Because if so that could make for an awesome BBEG that could lay siege while using the Treants to move across the battlefield.
Unfortunately, you are limited to once per turn
I believe if they are trees the Treant animated, you should still be able to Tree Stride to them.
But that would cost 6 5th level spells
