You reach across the tapestry of fate and pluck loose a single thread woven through a creature’s soul. Choose one creature you can see within range. For the duration:
- You have advantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws involving or targeting that creature.
- You can always see the thread, even through invisibility or magical obfuscation; the creature cannot become hidden from you.
- Once per round, when the creature attempts to attack you, you may use your reaction to force it to roll its attack with disadvantage, as the thread tugs at its will.
- If the creature dies while the spell is active, you regain one expended 2nd-level spell slot. If the creature was undead, fey, or fiend, you instead regain a spell slot of 1st level, as their thread resists your claim.
At the end of each of its turns, the affected creature may make a Charisma saving throw (DC = your spell save DC).
-
On a success, it resists your pull: the spell ends early and the thread snaps with a psychic backlash—you take 1d6 psychic damage.
-
A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to this spell from you for 24 hours.
