                        You sap your own life force in an attempt to raise a fallen ally. As an action, with the casting of this spell, you stab yourself with the material component. You take an amount of damage equal to half your maximum hit points. This damage cannot be reduced in any way. After doing so, choose one creature within 60 feet of you that has been dead for less than 1 minute. After you choose a creature, the creature immediately stands up with an amount of hit points equal to half the amount of damage you took.

Posted Mar 12, 2021I've been thinking about something something similar, and I like the Half cost (150gp dagger vs 300gp diamonds) vs half-health tradeoff. Neat idea.
However, it should be Touch like Revivify for balance reasons. Giving Wizard and Warlock Revivify at range seems unfair and imbalanced, especaiay at the same level.
So, I would bump it a level to 4th, convert to Touch, and remove Cleric. Cleric can too easily overcome the half-HP loss anyway. Just make them stick to Revivify.
