You assume a different Ability buff. When you cast the spell, choose one of the following options, the effects of which last for the duration of the spell. While the spell lasts, you can end one option as an action to gain the benefits of a different one.
Speed. You adapt your body to a faster appearance and your character is faster for the next three rounds.(+10 walking speed)
Strength. You transform your energy into strength. Your moves are stronger and you are proficient in all melee weapons, this last three rounds.(+5 damage for any weapon)
Jump. You are now able to jump double the height for three rounds.
Fly. You are able to fly for one turn. (10 flying speed)
*You can only use one at a time

Posted Apr 27, 2021Hi, this cantrip is awesome, and has a very good base idea. I do recommend making a few balancing changes: rather than the strength buff giving you proficiency in all weapons, I think it would make sense to give proficiency with strictly STR based weaponry, and applying the +5 damage bonus would replace your regular strength modifier (that way they wouldn't stack).
secondly, I recommend making this cantrip require concentration for some of its effects (speed and fly in particular), this way it wouldn't be stack-able with the effects of a Longstrider or Haste spell from the same caster.
Thirdly, if the spell has a range of touch rather than self, it could be used to support your allies. maybe allowing the paladin to cast this on his/her cleric friend so that they can fend for themselves with an increase in strength, or letting the fighter imbue a monk ally with great speed so that they may outmaneuver the guards blocking their path.
this is just a suggestion but I do genuinely love the idea! I can't wait to think of how the 'shapechanging' effect of this spell comes into play (like growing tiny wings on a creature)!

Posted Dec 3, 2023As someone has already stated, Paladins and Rangers dont get cantrips. But also I would change the cantrip part. The Spell is good on paper, but way too strong for a cantrip. If it was 2nd level, I think it would be good. No hate. Really good Idea, just needs a little balancing.
