Monks who follow the Way of the Dragon Turtle have a specialized way of fighting. They have learned to channel the very essence of their beings into powerful steam, allowing them to alter their forms to become more powerful. But even without that steam, these monks are still forces to be reckoned with, for this way of fighting is also one of unbreakable stability. Most fail to follow the teachings of this fighting style, however, as they see it as one of pure strength, when in reality it is one of true self-reflection. To achieve stability, one must stabilize the soul and ignite their inner flame, allowing for the dragon turtle's steam to be released. This also leads to the teachings of luck and karma, as it can also bring balance to the soul and allow for success in combat.

To become powerful is to achieve true balance.

Claw of Strength & Steam

At 3rd level, you learn how to channel the might of the dragon turtle for a short period of time. On your turn, you can spend 1 ki point to gain the following benefits until the start of your next turn as mystical steam forms around your arms:

  • Your unarmed strikes do additional fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.
  • Your unarmed strikes gain 5 feet to their reach.
  • You gain resistance to fire damage.

Ancient Stability

At 6th level, your mastery of balance and stability begins to truly shine. You have advantage on checks and saving throws made to resist being knocked prone or moved against your will, such as with the shove attack. Additionally, if you succeed, you can spend 1 ki point to make an unarmed strike against the enemy that forced the check or saving throw. If it hits, this attack will deal fire damage equal to your monk level.

Tortoise's Luck

Starting at 11th level, you have gained stability through the understanding of karma and luck. Whenever you make an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw and have disadvantage on the roll, you can spend 2 ki points to cancel the disadvantage on yourself.

Form of Steam & Terror

Starting at 17th level, you gain the ability to unleash a truly terrifying power. On your turn, as a bonus action, you can spend 5 ki points to gain the following effects for 1 minute as mystical steam envelops your form, transforming you into a destructive monster with the following benefits:

  • Your size increases to Large.
  • You gain immunity to fire damage and the prone condition.
  • Heat radiates from you in a 10-foot radius. Each creature that either starts its turn within the radius or enters the radius for the first time on its turn takes damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal extra damage equal to an additional roll of your Martial Arts die. This extra damage is fire damage.

Additionally, when you transform in this way, each creature of your choice within 60 feet of you that can see you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you for the duration.
