Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

While most tacticians and strategic warriors follow a method to combat that is far different than that of a barbarian, there are a unique few barbarians who use their rage to gain supreme focus and precision. These warriors hone their rage to a fine edge so that their opponents are fooled into thinking they are blinded by rage while they strike with unerring accuracy. While in their rage, they can find a weak point in their target to deal a mortal blow.

Focused Strikes

When you choose this primal path at 3rd level, you are able to divert the raw power behind your attacks into more accurate blows. Whenever you make a weapon attack while raging, you may add your rage damage bonus to the attack roll instead of the damage roll. You can choose to add this bonus after you roll the D20, but before the DM declares whether the attack hits or misses.

Tactical Insight

Also at 3rd level, you have learned to see the battlefield from a general's point of view. You gain proficiency in History and Insight.

Threat Assessment

At 6th level, your ability to size up enemies before heading into battle comes as second nature. As an action, you can read the defenses of a number of creatures up to your Wisdom modifier that you can see (minimum of 1). Make a Wisdom (Insight) check contested by each creature’s Deception (Charisma). On a success, you can learn up to two pieces of information about each creature from the following choices:

  • Armor Class
  • Primary Attack To Hit Bonus
  • Saving Throw Proficiencies
  • Damage Resistances or Immunities

Aggressive Defense

Beginning at 10th level, you have learned to enhance your defense through your offensive attacks. While raging, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack you may use your reaction to gain a bonus to your AC equal to your rage damage bonus until the start of your next turn.

Deadly Precision

Starting at 14th level, you have have mastered your attacks enough to guarantee a deadly blow. On your turn when you make a weapon attack and hit a creature while raging, you can use your bonus action to cause the attack to become a critical hit. If you do so, your rage immediately ends.

Once you use this feature, you are unable to use it again until you finish a long rest.
